When you need to detect PFAS and map out a contamination zone, timeliness and accuracy are keys to building an informed site characterization. Currently, detecting PFAS in environmental samples, such as groundwater, surface water, and leachate, requires sending samples to offsite laboratories for analysis – a process that is both costly and time-consuming, often taking weeks to produce results. This delay can lead to further contamination while waiting for actionable data. Our Salvus Detection Platform rapidly detects PFAS at the point-of-concern so you can more efficiently characterize and understand PFAS in source zones, make more timely decisions, and deploy effective remediation plans. Detecting chembio substances at the point-of-concern to enable quicker, more informed decisions for multiple industries
About us
At Salvus, we’re focused on providing innovative, user-friendly detection solutions that are deployable at the point-of-concern to enable faster, more informed decisions. Founded in 2018 and based on the Latin word for “safe,” Salvus leverages technology incubated at the Georgia Tech Research Institute to answer the demands for rapid, onsite detection. The Salvus Detection Platform is the world’s first handheld, advanced-detection device using interferometry to rapidly identify and quantify chemical and biological substances in liquid, air, and surface environments. Adaptable, deployable, and sensitive, the Salvus Detection Platform is a lightweight, easy-to-use device that can detect multiple substances. It delivers results within minutes in the field so users can make quicker decisions and initiate more timely action. Backed by years of research and testing, Salvus Detection Platform features capabilities across numerous demanding applications in multiple industries, including Water, Food Safety, Animal Health, Agriculture, Industrial, Human Health, and Government. Salvus Detection Platform is an advanced solution that’s ready to advance humanity by empowering informed decisions. It can be deployed in situations where discreet sampling or monitoring is required. It also can be incorporated into processes and adapted to fit on multiple other form factors, such as monitoring stations or on unmanned vehicles (UGVs, UAVs). Contact us today to discuss your detection concerns.

We're fortunate to work with so many amazing colleagues! Congrats to all! 🥳
Each year at our holiday party, we recognize colleagues with the CJB Way Award for how they live our CJB values, or R.I.T.E.S., each day, as well as honor our team members for reaching years of service milestones. We are humbled to have so many amazing people in our CJB family! Thank you to all our team members for making this a great place to work. 👏 The CJB Way Award Each month, employees nominate their peers at the Gil Harbin and Cypress Street plants to be recognized as a CJB Way honoree. In November, employees vote for the Top 3 from each plant from the monthly winners. Our Top 3 at Cypress Street are Shunda Baker, Kenda Blair, and Senovia Bryant, and our Top 3 at Gil Harbin are Ben Lane, Michael Moore, and Gerald Viar. Those Top 3 are interviewed, and the annual winner is announced at our holiday party. 🏆 We are thrilled to present this year’s CJB Way Awards to Shunda Baker, packaging group lead at our Cypress Street plant, and Gerald Viar, maintenance technician at our Gil Harbin plant. Thank you, and congratulations! Years of Service Awards Thank you to our team members who have been with us for 5, 10, 15, and 20 years! ⭐ 5 Years: Kristal Bedene, Darrell Bonner, Willy Clayton, Michael Daniels, Victoria Finniessee, Dionne Wilson 🎊 10 Years: Shunda Baker, Johnny Baynes, Timothy Bryant, Ronald Coppage, Gene Gray, Ron Levin, Karli Turner 🎉 15 Years: Everett Chadwick, Mike Murphy, Drew Patterson, Chris Shipman 🥳 20 Years: Victoria Crittenden, Brooke Glassner, Tommy Jackson, Billy Whiting

Scott Witte PhD, is drawn to work that benefits society and the environment. It was fitting that he earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and environmental science and a doctorate in biochemistry. “My passion is to use science and technology to help mankind and the environment in creating a sustainable and better place to live. I want to use my skills as a problem solver to make the lives of others easier,” Scott said. Before joining Salvus, he nurtured his interests in helping the environment and humanity by working on projects that sought to optimize algal growth and extraction for renewable oil production, as well as projects that worked with DNA to identify mutations leading to cancers and to facilitate DNA repair processes. At Salvus, Scott leads projects focused on detecting per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a group of chemicals known as “forever chemicals,” in water and other liquid and surface environments. “I am in charge of assay development and experimental design for our PFAS rapid detection sensor. I focus on the optimization of our novel sensing layer, as well as testing conditions both in the lab and the field. I also work on the development of additional sensing surfaces to detect different analytes,” Scott explained.

What an inspiring story! Congratulations to Andre Weltman Tatar and Mitchell Beeland Tatar, MBA! We look forward to your continued leadership at CJB.
Business school is better together. Mitchell Beeland Tatar, MBA and Andre Weltman Tatar met in math class while pursuing undergraduate degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering at the Georgia Tech H. Milton Stewart School of ISyE, graduating in 2017. Now, seven years later, the couple will walk across the commencement stage together again, as Executive MBA graduates. This time around, they have a “Baby Buzz” to celebrate with. The couple applied when they were pregnant with their first child and started the program when she was only three months old.
