That's a wrap on the final Roundtable event of the year! 🎁 This Roundtable event was hosted at Brinker International, in Dallas TX. We focused on special interest, identity & wellbeing represented in employee and business resource groups (ERGs and BRGs). At this event, the ERG panel was moderated by Andre Howell, Vice President of Operations, MFHA, and welcomed Jennifer North, Manager, Operations Excellence, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Hillary Hodges, Senior Manager, Training & Operations, Outback Steakhouse to chat about special interest, & identity, & wellbeing. We also heard from Lauren Genovese, Senior Manager, DEI, Rich’s Products in our Allyship Spotlight, moderated by Erika Cospy Carr, MBA, Vice President, MFHA. Change Leader | Unlocking the Potential of People and Organizations, Mobilizing Teams to Achieve Exceptional Results
I’ve deeply enjoyed connecting with leaders across the restaurant and hospitality industry during my first 90 days at the helm of MFHA - The Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance. Throughout my travels, I’ve seen firsthand what makes our industry so impactful and I’ve gained greater insight into how MFHA can be a partner to organizations that share our commitment to a diverse and inclusive restaurant and hospitality industry. Here are a few highlights: From Dairy Queen, I met with Amie Hoffner and David Wheeler, where we talked through the needs of our entire industry – including workplace civility which came to life at our recent webinar. Thank you to Amie and David for the insightful discussion. At Inspire Brands, I had the chance to chat with MFHA Board Advisor Damian Hanft about the purpose that MFHA initiatives drive at the top of organizations. It was great to strategize with Damian over how MFHA and Inspire Brands can partner in the years ahead. I had an incredible first-time visit to the General Mills Headquarters where I shared a lunch with Phillip Ramsey, MBA, Nicole Nelsen, and Mikaela Smith. I also met with key DEI leaders at General Mills, who generously shared about their organization’s journey and best practices. Thank you to Kindra Wray, Molly Sjostrom, and Nicole Vachon for your work to drive General Mills as a leader in the DEI space, and also for connecting me with Braver Angels and our mutual support of “global goodwill." Finally, I headed to the Ecolab HQ to meet the team and tour the facility. Thank you to Greg Cocchiarella for the chance to learn from Ecolab and meet some of your team’s key players, including Cindy Thompson, Dexter D., Lisa R. Robinson MS, CQA, and Erin Mertz on your team.
