You are invited to the grand opening of Kentucky's only Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) on Jan. 7, 2025, 3 p.m., at the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library. Officially designated by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), PTRCs assist innovators and small businesses in protecting their intellectual property. The opening event will include two discussion panels featuring representatives from the USPTO, UofL and other local partners. Florence Teel invented a basting device that easily sprayed  juices over the turkey, and Harvey Lyons invented a gravy separator that helps us ditch the grease but keep the tasty goodness. But how do we know when our turkey is fully cooked? The competition pits IP law students against their peers as they hone skills in patent application drafting, amending and prosecution to be named best in the country.
