In the latest issue of Kaplan's Bold Learning newsletter, just out today: As countries across the globe grapple with policy changes affecting #internationalstudents — from visa processing to work permits — #collegesanduniversities face a critical moment. Insightful analysis from Hannah Drover, executive director, Kaplan International Pathways, suggests the current challenges in #Canada mirror those faced by other major destination countries and represent an opportunity for positive change. Also: During the Great Resignation of 2021-2022, millions left their jobs, seeking better pay, flexibility, and fulfillment. While job-hopping has slowed due to a softer market, many employees now feel stuck, leading to the "Great Detachment." Check out this infographic, which illustrates results from a recent Gallup survey on overall job satisfaction and intent to leave. Researchers also offer some ideas on how businesses can reverse this troubling tide. https://lnkd.in/eUPsDAkb #highereducation #highered #internationaleducation #workforcedevelopment

We have some research to share! Kaplan Schweser, which specializes in providing exam prep courses and study materials for financial certifications, has released its 2024 CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Program Survey, exploring the diverse experiences, interests, and viewpoints of charterholders and candidates. Among the survey's findings: - Artificial Intelligence: 82% of respondents say that #ai has impacted their job role in some way. Over two-thirds also believe that AI will add value to their role in the future; however, about one-quarter are unsure of whether AI’s impact will be positive. - Job Satisfaction: 60 percent of respondents were more satisfied with their career trajectories after passing their most recent exam or becoming a charterholder. This was particularly true of charterholders, at 67 percent. - ESG: CFA candidates and charterholders are split when it comes to ESG investing practices, which integrate environmental, social, and governance factors into investment decisions and promote responsible, sustainable growth by evaluating companies’ impacts on people and the planet. While 38% agree that learning about ESG investing practices will make them more effective in their field, 28% disagree, and 34% are neutral on the topic. “The CFA charter remains one of the most important and impactful designations in the investment management industry. As a result of pursuing and earning the CFA charter, professionals are more satisfied with their careers and career trajectories, and are rewarded by their employers with promotions and increased earnings. Likewise, organizations see positive returns from supporting their CFA candidates. Their employees are more satisfied and competent in their job roles, feel valued, and are more committed to their current organization," said Derek Burkett, vice president, Kaplan Schweser. "At Kaplan Schweser, we’re committed as ever to helping candidates build their knowledge and pass their CFA exams, enabling them to achieve their goals.” Check out the press release below for more! https://lnkd.in/gbkEu9dH #charteredfinancialanalyst #cfa #cfaexam #cfaexams #wealthmanagement #investing

Kaplan has released its annual medical school admissions officers survey, a nearly two decades old initiative, revealing what most impresses them when deciding who gets in and discussing some controversial topics in the application process and medical education: MCAT® Score: At 39%, survey respondents named a low MCAT score as “the biggest application deal breaker” in the primary part of the application—a near constant in Kaplan’s findings over the years. A low undergraduate GPA placed second at 24%. Artificial Intelligence: Only 3% of medical school admissions officers say their school has an official policy allowing applicants to use Generative AI programs such as ChatGPT to write their admissions essays; 36% say they officially prohibit the practice; and 61% say they have no official policy. Social Media: Nearly a third (31%) of medical school admissions officers say they have visited an applicant’s social media profile to learn more about them, up 2 points from 2017, the last time this topic was explored in Kaplan’s med school survey. Dr. Alvin Bisarya, MD, vice president of college and #STEM programs, Kaplan, said: “For nearly 20 years, Kaplan’s annual survey of medical schools has provided invaluable insights into what admissions officers prioritize when deciding who gets in. With admissions remaining fiercely competitive, understanding key trends—like the impact of MCAT scores, the cautious embrace of AI tools, and the role of social media—can give pre-med students a significant edge. We’d also stress that this survey is much more than data; it’s a guide for aspiring doctors navigating a high-stakes process, offering a window into the evolving viewpoints of admissions officers and helping applicants better position themselves for success in their medical career journey.” Kaplan surveys admissions officers every year to ensure that aspiring professionals have the most accurate and up-to-date information on key trends and issues, which in turn helps them to be stronger applicants. Kaplan also surveys admissions officers at colleges, business schools, and law schools. We see this as a model partnership and real game changer in higher education.” And Kim Canning, vice president, university partnerships, Kaplan, said, "By partnering with APACS, Kaplan is proud to be doing our part to help aspiring STEM professionals across New York State get that much closer to achieving their education and career goals." Her dual role overseeing both communications and HR highlights the interconnected nature of these functions in today's business environment.
