Following the recent 2024 International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) elections, we are pleased to announce that Jonathan Chew, Navitas Chief Insights Officer, has been elected as IEAA Board Vice President. Jon had previously served as an Ordinary Board Member, and now (as per the IEAA constitution), he will serve a two-year term as Vice President, followed by a two-year term as President. We would also like to congratulate Dom Harden, Academic Director at La Trobe College Australia, on being elected as Network Leadership Pathways Convener, and Sally Waite, Navitas Executive General Manager – University Partnerships Australasia, on her reinstated appointment to the IEAA Board. IEAA, Australia’s leading association for international education, strives to enhance Australia’s reputation as a provider of world-class education. We are proud to have three of our leaders taking an active role in helping shape IEAA's strategic direction. #internationaleducation #intled

International education is moving from the “market era” of intense growth to a “managed era” of rampant regulation. At the recent 2024 Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) in Melbourne, Navitas Chief Insights Officer Jonathan Chew warned that layers and layers of interventions will not be a temporary phenomenon. A structural change to the sector, occurring amid a worldwide shift from globalisation to “slowbalisation”, would be as profound as its 1980s conversion from post-war foreign aid schemes to booming export industries. All that had now changed, as governments were guided by “community sentiment” rather than the market. “We’re seeing layers upon layers of interventions happening at the same time,” Mr Chew said. “Whether it’s housing, whether it’s integrity in providers, whether it’s migration and population growth, there are multiple objectives at work – quite often in the background.” Times Higher Education #highereducation #highered #internationaleducation #intled #internationalstudents

We are proud to announce our partnership with Robert Gordon University (RGU) in ICRGU (International College Robert Gordon University) has been renewed for a further 10 years. An official signing ceremony took place on Wednesday 13 November at the ICRGU campus attended by Paul Lovegrove, CEO Europe & Global Chief Officer at Navitas, and Professor Steve Olivier, RGU Principal and Vice Chancellor. Located on the University's campus in Aberdeen, Scotland, ICRGU opened its doors to its first cohort of international students in 2011. Offering undergraduate and postgraduate pathways into RGU degrees, ICRGU provide smaller, tailored classes, in a supportive student-centered environment. The signing event coincided with ICRGU’s annual Cultural Day, a celebration of international diversity where students proudly showcase their home countries through traditional dress and speciality cuisine. The festivities created a vibrant buzz across campus, offering a full cultural experience. #internationalstudents #intled #internationaleducation #highered #highereducation #universitypartners

As Universities in #Australia and around the world are facing major budget cuts, revenue challenges and new layers of government intervention, Navitas Chief Insights Officer and one of world’s leading market analysts in #internationaleducation, Jonathan Chew, says that #highereducation is moving from a 40-year period of dynamic globalisation into one of government intervention and constraint. “We’ve gone from the market era into a managed era,” Chew told a roundtable of experts convened by listed education company Keypath Education. Chew said universities were in a period of shock as they adjusted to the new order. “The backdrop to higher education around the world has changed dramatically since the global financial crisis, and especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.” The Australian Financial Review #intled #internationalstudents #globalisation

Congratulations ACAP University College on their new name! Having officially been recognised as a University College by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) in July this year, the Australian College of Applied Professions (ACAP) has embraced their elevated status by changing their name, and a new logo to match. ACAP's evolution from a small Sydney psychology college in 1983 to one of the country's largest multi-disciplinary independent #highereducation providers today is being celebrated as they are one of only eight institutions in Australia to achieve University College status. The college will continue to specialise in delivering accredited courses in Psychology, Counselling, Coaching, Criminology, Law, Social Work and Leadership through their MBA program. 🔗 Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gd5hidvX #ACAPUniversityCollege
Introducing ACAP University College! 💙 Recently recognised as a University College by TEQSA, we’re embracing our elevated status with a new name and logo. ACAP University College replaces 'Australian College of Applied Professions (ACAP)'. After more than four decades of students, staff, alumni and industry referring to us more often as 'ACAP’ than our full name, we have embraced ACAP as a pseudo-acronym – a bold and familiar brand in its own right. As one of only eight institutions in Australia to achieve University College status, we’re excited to continue setting the standard in applied education. 🔗 Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gd5hidvX #ACAPUniversityCollege #NewName #NewLogo #StudyAtACAP Joseph Anthonysz Lucy Schulz Navitas
