In 6 months, Fyxer AI has gone from $0-2.3M ARR. They were growing 12% a week for 26 weeks straight, but that all changed last week... When they signed their first $1M customer and doubled ARR overnight! Why am I sharing this? Pavilion is the #1 GTM community in the world.  And being part of the very best GTM community in the world has its benefits.  One of them is the privilege of watching Pavilion-incubated companies manage their growth so effectively. That’s why I’m so excited to share this video about Fyxer. Richard and Archie Hollingsworth credit Pavilion with helping nurture and evolve their Profitable Efficient Growth business. Their tool, which is the best AI virtual assistant and email drafting tool in the world, was trained a proprietary data set powered by the largest Executive Assistant agency in the UK (which they also started).  What sets Fyxer apart? - Starting with a unique competitive advantage (their data set) - Deep empathy and understanding with their customers (from their work running their own business) - Innovative low CAC GTM strategy (leveraging well known influencers like me and Brendon Cassidy ❤️🔥) - Execution Check out this video from Rich and if you’re interested in saving a few hours per week writing emails, take a look at Fyxer here:

Standup comedian Jim Gaffigan is our newest member at AI Circle. This week we had the pleasure of hanging out at the Stand in NYC with our very own F. Xavier Roliz taking the stage. What a legend. We ended up running into comedic legends like Natalie Cuomo, Andre Kim, and Emil Wakim. What a night. Shout out to both Suzanne Rabicoff and Xavier for co-hosting, and Christie Mealo and Vitoria Lima for the photos. Join us for more events like this. Apply at www.ai-circle.org

I'm excited to share that I had the honor of speaking at the Conferencia Internacional de la Democracia y Estado (#CIED) in San Salvador, El Salvador. Hosted by Vice President Félix Ulloa, the conference brought together diplomats, politicians, ministers, and academics to discuss the evolving challenges of democracy and how the interplay between democracy and the state can lead to a more prosperous world. During a panel moderated by Dr. William Mejía, El Salvador's Director of Educational Technology, we explored the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on democracy and education. Alongside esteemed colleagues Dr. Roberto Araya and Daniel Rebolledo, we delved into: -The ethical and moral implications of AI across nations -How AI can empower students and ease the burden on teachers -Leveraging AI as a tool for educational equity Minister of Education Jose Mauricio Pineda R. concluded with insightful remarks on leveraging technology to advance education in El Salvador. A heartfelt thank you to the teams at the Vice President's Office and the Ministry of Education for their exceptional organization and hospitality. The event showcased El Salvador's commitment to engaging with the international community and creating spaces for healthy debate and dialogue in order to move nations forward. I'm eager to bring these invaluable insights back to my peers at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and continue the dialogue on harnessing technology for democratic and educational advancement. #CIED #AI #Democracy #Education #ElSalvador #Technology

In my first 6 months at Invisible Technologies, I referred 43+ candidates for management roles. In that same time, my team hired ~500 annotators from 80+ countries. Prior to Invisible, I onboarded and trained over ~300-400 sellers in 1.5 years. Here are some lessons I learned along the way: - Time kills all deals - Qualifying leads is real - Automate what you can - Don't mess with people's bonuses - Hire people whose talent threatens you - Resist the temptation of empire building - Building a system and machine is important - Talent acquisition doesn't get enough credit - Incentives are the invisible managers in the room - Don't mess with people's titles and compensation - Be okay not being the smartest person in the room - Resist the temptation to be the smartest person in the room - Breaking out of the system for the unicorn talent is important - Measure and attach a bonus to every stage of the candidate funnel - Hiring people is not a popularity contest. Dont' care about who referred them - If you want to hire suits from big companies, expect increased bureaucracy - Find out your conversion points and diagnose problems. Examples: - If a conversion on a test is too high, then the test is too easy. - If the conversion rate between offer and sign is too low, then your comp probably sucks, or you took too long and now they have competing offers. - Stop manufacturing timelines between interviews: - Breakdown the artificial timelines and collapse all interviews to 24-48 hours. - It is better to fill 25% of your opening jobs at the end of the month, than make 25% progress on all job openings without closing a single seat. Remember: time kills all deals. - When you're a company that sells data annotations done by humans, then your moat is the quality of talent you're able to attract and retain. What are some lessons you've learned from hiring? - At AI Circle, we help companies recruit high caliber talent Please share these lessons with your networks

Instead of Centralized AI vs. Decentralized AI, what if both co-existed? Startup execution. Boring I know, but the most important !! You can botch a lot of things, but if you have world class execution then you'll be fine. If you botch execution, it's nearly impossible to survive, let alone thrive. What does WC execution look like? 100 hour weeks? rapid sales? building prodict quickly or high quality? My hot take (and I'd love to hear yours): 1. talk with customers (ideally 100+) 2. pick a rough strategy for product/eng & marketing/distribution/sales, and validate it - if you build it, they'll really use it (if your market is >1M weekly users, then don't worry about revenue yet, and don't take investment from anybody who focuses on revenue). This strategy informs what constitutes execution. 3. select a quality bar for this strategy - what is "good enough" ? 4. execution is how quickly you deliver #2/3 and how quickly you iterate. How fast is enough? Depends on two things: (1) running out of money (losing access to capital), and (2) competition (including future competition). Last thing: "if you want to go far go together, if you want to go fast, go alone" - this is why startups win and why they should be very picky about hiring. (as usual, reposts appreciated)

Had a great time at Open Mic Comedy Night last night at The Stand! Thanks to Albert Chun, F. Xavier Roliz, and Suzanne Rabicoff for putting together such a fun and unique event. It’s not every day you see VCs, founders, and operators cheering on emerging comedians, and it was such a refreshing way to connect and unwind. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but nights like this are a great reminder to slow down, share a laugh, and enjoy the people around you. Huge thanks to the hosts for pulling this together—and to everyone who showed up and made it such a memorable night. AI Circle#NYC #AICircle #AIEvents #TechNetworking

I'm thrilled to announce that Naomi White is our new London Chair at AI Circle. I could not think of a better person to represent our exclusive AI community in London. Naomi works closely with the modeling team at Cohere where she joined before ChatGPT 3 launched in 2022. Before that, she spent nearly four years working in operations at Google DeepMind. Naomi and I met over a year ago discussing and working on all things AI safety, ethics, RAG, and human data. She has been a critical founding member at AI Circle, and it's with great delight that I announce the expansion of our community's presence in London. - Naomi and Kait Healy of Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be co-hosting our first event in January. You don't want to miss it. DM one of us if you want to get on the waitlist. - Apply to be a member: www.ai-circle.org/apply
