About us

Since 1937, we’ve helped clients thrive. Our company grew up in Wahoo, Nebraska, and there we cultivated our reputation for treating our clients and employees like family. As we built our name in the industry and relationships with our clients, we learned more about their diverse needs. After specializing in a few core areas such as bridge design and construction, we broadened our services and developed the expertise needed to help communities thrive. Now, we excel in engineering, architecture, surveying, planning, community engagement, environmental sciences, and funding. Over the decades, we’ve opened ten offices and hired over two hundred people so we can solve almost any problem in any place. Our clients are often local leaders of villages, cities, counties, and states. They’re also community bedrocks like farmers, firefighters, librarians, and business people. We partner with every client, big or small, and help them achieve their goals. With roots across the Midwest, we care about sustaining the places that people call home. What sets us apart: Putting people first - Treating people right is our priority. Whether client or employee, we’re invested in the success of those around us. Working where home is - As professionals and as residents, we’re committed to the prosperity of the heartland. That’s why our employees serve as city engineers, floodplain managers, and community organizers. Pairing personalized attention and expertise - Years of industry experience taught us how to best meet our clients’ needs. We’re a person-to-person company with the resources of a large firm.

  • A huge thank you to Clarkson Construction Company for their incredible work bringing our design to life, and to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for the partnership and collaboration. We’re proud to have contributed to rebuilding this vital connection for the Kansas City, Kansas, community.

The Metropolitan Avenue bridge over I-635 in Kansas City, Kansas, is complete and open for traffic -- right on schedule! Watch as months of hard work transform this key connection into a modern, safer, and smoother route for both motorists and pedestrians. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) project began in February and features a brand-new bridge, modernized approach pavements, upgraded guardrails, and improved traffic signals. A huge shoutout to every member of the Clarkson team whose hard work and dedication made this project happen! #ClarksonBuilds

  • Giving Tuesday is all about inspiring generosity and creating positive change through donations, volunteering, and acts of kindness. In November, we hosted our annual Month of Giving for the JEO Foundation. Between our employees’ contributions and the Foundation’s matching gift we raised $100,000, which will be gifted to charities in the communities where we work. We’re so grateful for everyone’s contributions and encourage you to join us in giving back, not just today but throughout the year. #GivingTuesday #JEOFoundation #HabitforGood #GivingBack

  • This Thanksgiving, we asked employees to share what they are thankful for, and their answers truly capture the essence of JEO. Our team puts people first, is passionate about improving the communities where we live and work, loves to have fun — and apparently really likes tacos! We couldn't be more grateful for the more than 400 people who make up the JEO team. Wishing all of our colleagues, clients, and partners a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. #grateful #thanksgiving #teamthankful

  • Our environmental team is branching out with GIS mapping technology to create detailed, interactive maps showcasing every tree within a community. Each tree is marked with a plot point containing 33 key data attributes, offering valuable insights for community planners and residents to leaf through. • The recent ribbon cutting at Wyuka Cemetery Pond was a special moment for the Lincoln community. Over the years, the pond had filled with sediment, brush, and stagnant water. In 2018, we set out to change that by working alongside the Wyuka Cemetery and the local stakeholders to restore this landscape. With design improvements that honor its legacy, the pond is now a beautiful focal point, offering families a place of respite. #RibbonCutting #WaterResources #WaterInfrastructure #Community

  • With the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule revisions, communities across Kansas are taking the first step towards safer drinking water. Through a data-driven public outreach campaign, we've partnered with 41 public water systems to create accurate service line inventories. The result? Thousands of service lines now mapped in a GIS database, setting the foundation for future improvements. • It’s been a privilege to contribute to this project that enhances the safety of the traveling public and provides economic benefits in northeastern Nebraska. Congratulations to the entire team on completing this project!

On Monday, Governor Jim Pillen joined us to celebrate the completion of the final segment of the US-275 Scribner to West Point corridor. 🚧✨ "The completion of this stretch of the US-275 expressway is a big win for Nebraska, but we have more work to do," said Governor Pillen. "The local communities understand the need for this expressway to be complete, and the economic benefit it will provide. Local support for this work has been strong and sustained for decades. Today, I have directed NDOT to condense the time needed to complete US-275 expressway from Norfolk to West Point." This segment, built by Koss Construction and Graham Construction, provides a safer, more efficient connection for Nebraskans-whether for work, healthcare, or transporting goods. 🚜 By improving access to major freight networks, local industries like agriculture, steelmaking, and manufacturing can thrive, helping small businesses stay competitive and grow. “This newly finished section of US-275 is a major step in our mission to complete the expressway system,” said Vicki K., NDOT Director. “The NDOT is exploring conservative and responsible bond financing options in an effort to complete the US-275 corridor on a more condensed schedule that would otherwise not be possible using the pay as you go strategy.”
