Thank you to the Arizona bioscience companies who applied to the 2025 Flinn Foundation Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program by this week’s deadline—and to everyone who helped spread the word. Reviewers now start narrowing the list. Finalists are notified in January and make in-person pitches in February. Two companies will be awarded up to $100K in project costs, but all 10 finalists will have access to Flinn’s network and advisors to help support them. Statewide input is needed to make the next iteration of Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap as inclusive as possible. Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee and the Flinn Foundation board of directors are the latest to brainstorm ideas with SRI as we build toward a 2025 release. We did something a little different at Venture Café Phoenix last night with the help of South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute. And it was a hit. The Flinn Foundation’s first BioStorytellers show featured first-person, inspirational, funny, and, at times, vulnerable stories from entrepreneurs Jasmine B. of Navi Nurses, Anthony Dietz of Paxauris and Courtney Williams of Emagine Solutions Technology. They shared how an “Aha!” moment led to the creation of their companies. All are supported by Flinn’s Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program.
