At CLYDE, staying at the forefront of #communications and #strategy is a constant priority. That’s why we were thrilled to host Eleanor Hawkins from Axios for a fireside chat, where we explored the future of strategy, communications, and the impact of the new administration on the industry. In fact, the conversation reinforced that CLYDE is not just keeping up with the rapidly changing communications landscape—we’re driving it forward. Our custom tools go deeper into audience personas than traditional methods, giving us unparalleled insights into how to truly engage your audience, not just reach them. Our approach drives results, moves the needle, and creates meaningful impact in an ever-evolving landscape. #FutureOfComms #InnovationInStrategy #LeadershipInMarketing #CLYDECommunications #StrategicImpact #2025Launch #GenerativeOptimization

While Democracy was theoretically on the ballot this year, democracy reforms were literally on the ballot by way of ballot initiatives around the country. Some saw success while others didn't. Here are some thoughts from our Lilia Dashevsky around how to move forward into 2025 and beyond.
My top 3 takeaways from the National Association of Nonpartisan Reformers post-election convening about where the #Democracy reform movement should go from here: 1️⃣ Success is built in the off-season. We have a *rapidly* closing window to finish our #2024Election analyses and jump into building and executing playbooks for 2025+. After all, new legislative sessions will begin in a matter of days. We have to be clear eyed in how we'll be tackling policy proposals and mobilizing our coalitions. Now's the time to set those expectations and challenge ourselves to be innovative with the tactics we use to reach our objectives. (Pssst...let's talk about AI!) 2️⃣ We have a messaging AND a messenger issue which manifests into a trust deficit. The majority of Americans want to radically change the way our government functions and, critically, how it works for them. They are also overwhelmingly, regardless of party, leaning into family and friends as their top trusted messengers. Are we meeting their desire for radical change? Are we doing all we can to explain how democracy reforms will make their personal lives better? Are we activating the right local leaders and voices to make that case in a genuine, trusted way? There's room for growth and reflection. 3️⃣ It's clear that philanthropy needs to invest in reforms beyond the two- and four-year campaign cycles. $150 million (out of a total of $20 billion this cycle!) was spent across the country on behalf of specific reform initiatives. Voters were cultivated, coalitions were developed, campaign infrastructures were set up. We can't, and shouldn't, simply abandon that if we expect to win in those areas in the future. We have to think longer term with our investments, because the one thing that's abundantly clear is we need to invest in movement building and not perceived quick wins.

AI is the great facilitator of the talent of people in the communications field. CLYDE runs deep here.
Fun fact about this picture, I am wearing a Weyland-Yutani lapel pin. If you know you know. That fun fact aside, expect a good crash course in how to use AI for media relations and analytics in a way you didn't expect. https://lnkd.in/ekNEPwtR

At CLYDE, we recognize that protecting democracy demands ongoing adaptation, introspection, and unity. Recent elections have highlighted public perceptions of what democracy truly means. In an open letter, Lilia Dashevsky and Scott Warren from the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University identify three key areas for leaders to enhance democratic institutions: 1. **Meet People Where They Are**: Democracy is personal, and linked to safety and opportunity. We need to illustrate how a thriving democracy meets real needs, shifting our mindset beyond abstract ideals. 2. **Reimagine Outreach**: Sticking to the same strategies will yield the same results. We must diversify our outreach methods and authentically connect with underrepresented groups, breaking free from echo chambers. 3. **Support Election Officials**: Election officials face immense pressure to ensure integrity in the election process. We must defend and champion their efforts as we move into future cycles. Though challenging, bridging divides and safeguarding democratic values requires our willingness to evolve and connect effectively. https://lnkd.in/e5ENXrPx

Today, we honor those who didn’t just answer the call, but ran toward it, standing shoulder-to-shoulder across every background, belief, and community. Today, an estimated eighteen million veterans represent every social class, ethnicity, religion, and community—including LGBTQ individuals and those serving to earn their citizenship. Veterans carry the weight of their experiences and continue to serve as a testament to resilience and courage. As we reflect on a day once marked by peace, we must also recognize the strength it takes to be a veteran, not just on the battlefield, but here at home.

At the core of our mission is protecting our elections—processes, the people who administer them, and voters—from those who seek to undermine them That’s why we proudly signed this open letter, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/eavMkFW7 Navigating our election system and our media environment is complex, but we’re committed to ensuring that truth and the rule of law prevail over public opinion.
