About us

The Agile Education Program powered by Scrum Inc.™ was launched to provide individuals and organizations with a clear path to implementing Scrum in a way that delivers results. With a vision of leaving a positive, lasting impact on the world of work, Scrum Inc. created the Agile Education Program to: --> Create high-quality Scrum training that aligns with the teachings of Dr. Jeff Sutherland, co-creator of Scrum and signatory of the Agile Manifesto --> Partner with dedicated, experienced Scrum educators to deliver the training and course curriculum worldwide The Agile Education Program asks students and organizations to “Believe in the Power of Better”. AEP meets Agile Professionals where they are at in their Scrum journey. We support on-demand Scrum basics training, Registered Scrum credentialing, the scaling framework Scrum@Scale, and training and coaching programs for Scrum educators. Our credentials and curriculum are based on decades of experience and research helping organizations improve performance. We firmly believe that a core element of productive change, adaptation, and continuous improvement requires voluntary participation.

  • 🔥 Top 3 Takeaways from Our Discussion on First Principles in Scrum: 👥 What is the First Principles Discussion? The First Principles Discussion is a recurring event where Dr. Jeff Sutherland, co-creator of Scrum, alongside a Registered Scrum Fellow™, dives deep into the foundational principles that drive successful teams and organizations. It’s designed to explore the core ideas behind Scrum and how they connect to broader concepts like physics, systems thinking, and team dynamics. If you missed this one, here are the top takeaways! 1️⃣ Systems Over Individuals One of the standout insights from this discussion was the exploration of Fundamental Attribution Error. Too often, we blame individuals for failures when, in reality, 80% of the issues stem from the system they’re working in. By focusing on system improvements, teams are empowered to thrive. 💡 “People tend to attribute failure to an individual, but it’s really the system that creates those errors. Focus on the system, and you’ll see the performance change.” – Dr. Jeff Sutherland. 2️⃣ Scrum Mirrors Physics Scrum is built on first principles, much like the natural laws of physics. By treating teams like energy systems, where effort and iteration frequency drive value, Scrum teams can achieve hyperproductivity. Scrum thrives by transforming simple rules into complex, impactful outcomes. 3️⃣ Complexity Emerges from Simplicity The concept of bootstrapping is a powerful metaphor for Scrum teams. By starting with simple principles and progressively applying energy and focus, groundbreaking results are achievable. It’s about building momentum through first principles, not starting big. 👉 Want to dive deeper into these insights? • Thank You for Your Insights! A Look at the Four Mega-Issues Impacting Your Organizations. A few weeks ago, we asked you to weigh in on the biggest challenges your organization faces, inspired by Dr. Jeff Sutherland’s introduction of the Four Mega-Issues that can make or break a business: Prioritization, Delivery, Structure, and Culture. Your responses were insightful and confirmed what many leaders are grappling with. According to the poll, 43% of you highlighted Prioritization as the most significant challenge, followed by Culture at 30%, while Delivery and Structure trailed behind. So what does this tell us? 🔑 Prioritization – It's clear that many teams are struggling to determine what should be tackled first. With so many competing initiatives, clarity and focus are becoming non-negotiable. It’s a reminder to simplify, focus on the high-impact efforts, and ensure alignment at all levels.  👥 Culture – Coming in second, it's no surprise that company culture continues to be at the forefront. A strong culture drives engagement and innovation, while a broken one can derail even the best-laid plans. This shows us that leadership must remain proactive in nurturing healthy, adaptive cultures. 🚀 Delivery & Structure – Although these didn’t rank as high, they are still critical elements to address. Effective structures and streamlined delivery processes are the backbones of any successful transformation. They need to align with your organization's vision and goals to ensure long-term success. The feedback we’ve gathered will fuel our upcoming series on these Mega-Issues. We’ll be diving deep into solutions and strategies to help you tackle these challenges head-on. What are your thoughts on the results? Do these priorities resonate with your experience? Drop a comment and let’s continue the conversation! #AgileLeadership #OrganizationalSuccess #Scrum #AgileEducation
