If you would like to create better copywriting, you have to combine the data and your life experiences to craft together. The reason is audience always making decision emotionally instead of rationally. The data may give you the rationale, but the insights from you is more important.

Data-driven insights are basically the information gathered from the raw data of the company. As soon as you get this information you have a big picture of the company in front of yourself (just like a sculptor has a big stone or big wooden piece in front of him/herself). Though it totally depends on your creativity how you make a persuasive copy out of it, but before that you must not lose the opportunity to understand the information very well. The better you understand the information, the better copy you can create from it.

Since we're on LinkedIn I am going to specifically talk to the utilization of LinkedIn metrics. LinkedIn provides performance metrics such as post impressions, post engagements profile views, and much more. This data can be viewed either in aggregate over varied periods of 7, 14, 28, 90, or 365 days. It also shows metrics for singular posts showing exactly what type of posts performed the best with your specific audience. I've used LinkedIn metrics to gain insights such as posts do better when they incorporate multimedia, the more comments on a post the greater organic reach it has, and so much more. So yes, there are many ways to collect data but within the native platform of LinkedIn there is much to be uncovered!

The comments section serves as a valuable resource for understanding your audience. Comments reflect a greater level of engagement than merely liking a post on social media. Reviewing and analyzing the types of posts that generate comments can guide you in developing a strategy aimed at attracting a more engaged and active audience.

Copywriting involves gathering and utilising various types of data like: • Audience Data • Product/Service Information • Market Research • Customer Feedbacks • Brand Voice Guidelines etc. To collect this data there can be various types of resources like: - Customer Surveys - Analytics Tools - Competition Study (Competitors' website, customer feedback, their strategies) - Industry Reports - Social Media Insights - Google (for sure;) It's essential to gather data from various sources to get a complete understanding. Data collection starts with a simple small search and sooner it gets better.

Being a solopreneur, one thing I regularly do to collect data is by going through my client conversations. Examine how they start the conversation. A. What problems do they share? B. What words do they use to describe their requirements? C. What ideas do they carry about your product/service? D. What are they afraid of? What was their past experiences dealing with similar service providers? Try to identify any trends when going through 10-20 conversations with your best clients. If a problem/objection is repeated multiple times, use it in your copy. If a question is repeated often, address it in your FAQ section. BOOM!

Focus on the needs and expectations of your audience. One of the best ways to find out what people want is to read similar product reviews. Encircle the points people love, and Underline the points people are bashing... Everything is there for a reason, locate that reason and write accordingly.

Moreover, I infuse creativity into my communication, making the content engaging and relatable for the audience. Here's what else to consider from my side:- 1. Temporarily forget that you're a copywriter and read your copy like a regular reader. Ask yourself some questions: Is it engaging and relatable from the very beginning? Identify where it becomes boring to continue. What can be improved? 2. Take inspiration not only from other copywriters but also from artists in different industries. Explore how they maintain relatability, conduct experiments, and engage in various ways. 3. Stay updated with market trends, algorithms, and technologies. Keep learning from others to stay informed and enhance your skills.

How you understand data is something no one talks about. You have all the info, all the analysis reports and outcomes from training but if you are not able to plan your improvement strategies out of it, nothing will work. Knowing how to make use of data is the most essential and difference-making practice that all must work on.

Don't get caught up chasing the wrong data. That's why you're struggling.

One thing I’ve found helpful is to think of data as the building blocks of a good, highly-converting copy. A. Start with understanding the available data available, wind down to let it sink in, and let the dots connect in your subconscious mind. B. Now that you have clarity and a point of view, create a reader-friendly structure (outline). It should take your reader on a journey from point A (where they currently are) to point B (their desired future). C. Then strengthen the structure further by tapping into the right emotion. And invite them to your CTA.
