My pesonal advice to all who have rejections after interview. No matter what stage of interviews it was - do not hesitate to reach out to the interviewer for feedback. After you have it - analyze it. Try to combine few feedbacks and understand where is a problem and fix it.

I'd start with adjusting the mindset that not being selected after an interview is a "setback". Most employers will interview several candidates. Which means, most being interviewed won't be offered the position. I wouldn't call this a setback. It's simply the way the cookie crumbles.

Besides asking the typical questions about "why" and "how could I improve for next time" I'd straight out ask the person if they knew if there was anything else on the radar. Maybe they could point you in the right direction: 1. Ask if there are any other opportunities coming down the pipeline. 2. Ask if they know any other companies seeking candidates at your professional level.

From my recent experience of applying to 100s of jobs, getting interviewed and facing rejections, I’ve learned it’s not always due to a weakness. Rejections often happen because of company budgets or internal hires. It’s tough to be turned down even after giving your all. But the time after rejection should be used wisely to reflect on experiences, strengths, and areas for growth. Most of the time, we don’t get the job because it wasn’t meant for us. When the right job finally comes after many rejections, it’s life guiding us to where we truly belong. In these moments, stay calm, breathe, take breaks, and reset. The right opportunity will come at the right time.

Rejection can be a valuable learning experience. Also we have heard many a times that - Rejection are part of life. 1. Ask for feedback on your interview performance to understand areas for improvement and not repeat the same mistake again. 2. Use feedback to enhance your resume and skills. 3. Connect with industry professionals to discover new opportunities. 4. Consider other ways to gain experience, like internship or freelancing.

First, have a moment feeling defensive, then drop that. Ask with curiosity and seeing things from the opposite perspective. But, always respect the interviewers and recruiters time. We manage hundreds/thousands of candidates every month. While happy to when we can, and to provide general feedback, do not request an in depth coaching session and a review of your CV formatting with suggestions for courses and development options.

Keep in mind your career is a journey. Use being turned down as an opportunity to learn and leverage the experience for the next time. Seek feedback and be an active listener. Stay positive and confident this experience can only help you going forward!

Feedback is the most crucial area to look back into your mistakes and learn from it. Simply ask professionally that for your self improvement and growth you would appreciate the feedback. Do not take it to your heart, spend time improving it.

While many interviewers don’t offer it unless prompted—and some may not even then—it’s your responsibility to seek it out. The most important thing is not to take feedback personally. By stepping into the 'interview arena,' even if you don't secure this particular role, you’re advancing toward the position that will be yours. Un CV est évolutif. Chaque jour, chaque semaine, vous évoluez, vous intégrez de nouvelles cordes à votre arc. Si vous regardez votre demain, évitez de vous dire : "mon CV est nul". Faites juste un refera en vous disant : "ce CV était adapté à mon mindset, ma vision et mes compétences du moment". Vous pourriez très bien faire évoluer votre CV toutes les semaines.

I don’t review my CV because I was rejected in an interview. Logically, if I have achieved a job interview, then the CV or resume managed to interest the recruiter.

Review your resume before your interviews. Everything on your resume is fair game to be asked about. And I mean EVERYTHING. You need to have the facts and details at your finger tips, whether that's rereading your college thesis, to reviewing the matters that you've listed on your resume. If you are looking to make a pivot in your career, take continuing education courses BEFORE you update your resume and certainly before your interviews. Put your continuing education section directly below your education section.This shows your interviewer that you are doing everything that you can to make your career transition as seamless as possible. It also shows that you are using your personal time wisely.

Ask them to give you insights on the content of your responses, as well as your demeanor and body language. More and more interviews involve problem solving, a portfolio of your work or presentations. Practice, practice, practice. Regardless of your confidence, it is always helpful to seek to improve. Interviews are a learning experience, make the most of your time.

One of the outcomes of using this method of interviewing is creating examples that are not only structured but concise and to the point. I would suggest after answering, asking the interviewer would you like me to elaborate or would you like more details? Remember you can always add words but you can never take them back.

The benefits of doing mock interviews are numerous. I like to take it a step further and advise my clients to recruit an accountability partner. Think of all the people in your life right now. Is there one person who stands out as being honest, direct and a no bull sh*t colleague/friend/acquaintance? If so, you may have just thought of the perfect accountability partner. Ask this person about it and tell them you want ALL the feedback both positive and negative. Tell them you need that negative feedback even more than the positive because that is where you can strengthen yourself the most - in the areas in which you are weakest. Find yourself an accountability partner and let the mock interview practicing begin! You got this!

All those techniques help. But the ball is always on the recruiter’s court. The best player in the NBA can miss the 3-point shot. Likewise, the best resource interviewed may fail due to existing factors on the playing field.

Practice, practice, and then practice again. You will be ready when you are interviewed to act normally, with ease without being arrogant and with firmness, without ceasing to demonstrate humility. We don't captivate by being aggressive, we do it by being naturally intelligent.

Practice makes perfect. You could set up mock interviews with friends/mentors to get more comfortable with answering questions and speaking about your accomplishments. There are also online platforms where you can practice or even get professional coaching.

Collectively we have strangled the concept of networking and turned it into a social space versus a career learning and professional learning space. We have to design spaces to come together where we share opportunities, discuss what trends are occurring, honestly discuss what we are seeing and experiencing and dedicating ourselves to opening the doors, pushing through the tunnels and encouraging each other to help "put each other on" rather then competing and suffering in silence. Your network is as strong as the relationships and opportunities to learn and move that it creates.

Connect with the people who interviewed you (if you can on LinkedIn), as they may consider you for a future opportunity. I always tell my clients, that's okay. There is a better opportunity waiting for you. This happened with one of my clients recently. He interviewed and at first they called and said "Sorry, you are too technical for this sales role." He said "Thank you so much and I actually agree with you." They called back and asked "Would you consider an upcoming role for a more technical position, but we haven't advertised it yet?" He said "YES!" He interviewed again and started his new job last week. Also, never underestimate the power of networking, at your hair salon, gym, soccer club. Someone knows someone who might be hiring.

Be open and positive — recruiters are often happy to support you (we just want to find a perfect fit for the company, and a perfect fit for the candidate). Remember, if it doesn’t work out this time, there may be future opportunities. 2 - Connect with Hiring Managers: Make a memorable impression by connecting with hiring managers on LinkedIn, inviting them for a coffee chat, and asking about their experiences. Aim to be a standout candidate who they will remember when new roles open up.

Lifelong Learning. - Avoid going into interviews with a desperate or ill-prepared mindset. - Build confidence through regular job applications, networking, self-education, and rejection. Do this often so rejection doesn't phase you. -Build mental strength & know your value. -Stay knowledgeable in your industry & have a side hustle. Learn trends. -Hire a professional coach. -Own the interview process from day one and choose a company that aligns with your values and skills, not vice versa. -Interview the company. This is a two-way street. You can choose to work anywhere & the company can choose to hire anyone. -Don't posture yourself as “I hope I get this job.” -Tap into your resilience basket!

As depressing as it sounds, you need to channelise the depression into something useful. Rejections are more common now than before. You may have excellent skills but the company might be interested in things beyond your expertise. Always reflect upon the whole process, analysing the short coming and the weak points in your own presentation whether resume or interview. Seeking feedback is important too. Work on the areas before applying on another job to avoid the burnout.

One of the most fundamental realities of the job search is that too many candidates do not know themselves well at all, and they treat interviews as one sided. Imagine what would change if you were clear about your competencies, your purpose and calling, had a strong network of support, your motivations and the kinds of experiences you want and need next to become the person you aspire to be. As I tell all my clients, as long as you prepped as best you can, and believe you gave it your best shot then you already winning. Every rejection is just feedback that can be used to improve our performance in the next interview. Understanding the value you bring to the table and being able to confidently express this in interviews is just a skill like any other that can be learned. Sometimes we just need a different perspective when things are not going our way. So if your process is not working, find someone you resonate with who has consistently delivered the results you looking for to help accelerate the process. Not every opportunity is meant for us, and that's okay.

Sometimes being rejected from a job has nothing to do with a lack of skillset, but rather the team was looking for a different candidate profile and/or certain skills to fill the skills gaps on the existing team. Even if you ask for feedback (always ask to schedule a quick call to discuss verbally so it is not in writing), sometimes the response is the company went a different direction or the other candidates' experience aligned better for a variety of reasons that might be uncontrollable to your candidacy. Ultimately, you can learn something from every conversation and interviews allow the opportunity to increase confidence, become more familiar with today's current interview protocol, and walk away with new contacts for the future.

Rejection doesn’t mean failure; it means there’s room to grow. Use this as an opportunity to upskill. Enroll in online courses that boost your knowledge in areas where you may be lacking. Débriefer sur l'entretien avec un ami ou ancien collègue compétent (en RH ou dans le domaine professionnel). Relancer pour savoir si le poste a finalement été pourvu et voir par qui (regarder le CV pour comparer au nôtre et voir où est le "gap"). S'assurer que le savoir-être, les compétences non-verbales sont au point, pour le poste considéré et l'entretien (sinon, les acquérir). Enfin, s'assurer qu'il ne s'agit pas de discrimination, et s'informer sur ses droits en ce cas (auprès de syndicats, avocats, défenseur des droits).

View your career as a continuous learning journey. If you were turned down for a role because of a missing skill or experience, consider this an opportunity to learn something new. Look for courses or side projects that can help you develop in areas you're passionate about. You’ve likely come across the phrase “failure is the prelude to success” many times in your life, but in this specific case, certain unique factors need to be considered. In my opinion, it’s important to study and understand what area of architectural work the proposed job was related to. It’s also essential to document every influencing factor, even down to the clothes that were worn, by taking a photo. Once we are not accepted, we should reflect on and review the interviewer and the process. This way, we will surely identify the areas where we made mistakes.
