Establishing a niche which you are passionate about is important, but being very specific about what exactly that niche is, well, that’s the golden ticket. For example, I am a Health Recovery & Orthopedic Recovery Coach. These are very specific coaching niches, right? How did I decide on something this specific? I looked to my own life experiences and passions. My life has been filled with the pitfalls of living with an autoimmune disorder and chronic pain. Having lived through 32 orthopedic surgeries and 14 joint replacements, I’ve learned a few things! Whew! I have become as passionate as a hurricane in wanting to help others overcome the adversity these situations present. Identify your passion and you will find your niche!

Do it for free. Show your value. Get experience along the way. The word will go out. Repeat again. That's how you get more clients.

I think it can be helpful to shift away from the word "business" as it can make it feel transactional. Coaching is ALL about the relationship. Yes, you need the training, qualifications and credentials to give you credibility, but people will choose you because they connect and relate to YOU. All relationships start with a connection. Get clear on what you want to connect with people about, and what you want to work with them on. Then think; where do I need to be/what do I need to be doing/who do I need to be, to meet more of the people I want to build relationships with. And finally, TRUST yourself in those conversations that start as a result of that!

Before diving into attracting clients, take a step back and define your niche in the life coaching world. Ask the right questions - Who do you want to empower? What specific challenges do you address? What transformations do you help clients achieve? By sharpening your focus, you can craft a targeted message that truly resonates with your ideal clients. This clarity directs your marketing efforts to the right channels and platforms, whether it's social media, blogs, podcasts, or industry events. Remember, a specialised approach attracts the right clients and allows you to make a meaningful impact on their lives.

Building a niche is important because if you are helping everyone, you are helping no one. It's only when you are helping someone, you are actually helping SOMEONE !

The heart of coaching is human connection; its results are achieved within this synergy. To generate more business, coaches can put themselves in direct, in-person contact with people so as to forge authentic, tangible connections. As we experienced during the COVID lockdown, being in-person has no substitute. Non-verbals contribute significantly to communication and they are most visible and potent in-person, and convey things (like the coaches’ demeanor and vibe) that are powerfully inviting to clients. Paired with strong coaching skills and passion for the work, this draws clients in and facilitates great results. And great results lead to ideal referrals: those which come from people who’ve experienced what a top-notch coach you are.

In my experience as a new coach many years ago, I used to believe that I could help everyone. However, I soon realized that if I continued with that mindset, I would end up helping no one. So, I had to pivot and figure out what specific problem I wanted to solve for a particular group of people. Once I did that, I made a strategic plan to solve the problem, and it was a success. Since then, I’ve been more productive and achieved better results. Nonetheless, one thing that still remains a challenge is the conversion on social media, which has improved in the past 6 months. Now, my brand is unique, my message resonates with the target audience, and my vision is clear.

To effectively define your niche as a life coach seeking more clients, begin by identifying your unique skills, experiences, and passions. Consider the specific challenges or goals your target audience may face, and tailor your coaching services to address those needs. Clearly communicate your expertise through a well-crafted brand message and online presence, utilizing platforms like social media, a website, and networking events. Collaborate with other professionals, offer valuable content, and seek opportunities to showcase your skills to attract potential clients within your niche market.

People trust brands so make sure you invest your time in building a brand that is trust worthy. You should share your real-life struggles and be open to sharing your vulnerabilities.

Utilize social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram to share valuable content, engage with your audience, and showcase your coaching services. Invest in a professional website that highlights your unique value proposition, testimonials, and case studies.

For a coach, personal branding is not just about competences but also showing the chemistry so that people can feel you. Also it is important to be a role model for a lifestyle and philosophy behind your coaching methodology.

As a coach it’s about personal connection probably more than brand. Your potential clients need to know that you are the right person to work with them. They need to see that spark that makes you you.

Being visible at the right places, at the right time, for the right reasons can do magic to get clients who are the right fit. Visibility builds the necessary environment to attract opportunities. Build a rock- solid brand by sharing stories, experiences, expertise, knowledge, testimonials. This builds the know, like, trust factor, creating a pull effect. And then, take online offline- you will never be short of clients!

Spot on! Building your brand is like storytelling at a campfire. It's not the flashy tent or the marshmallows that grab attention, but the tales you spin, making everyone lean in. Share stories through blog posts that make readers chuckle, videos that captivate like a cliffhanger, or podcasts that stick like your favorite song. Use testimonials like plot twists, showing your skillset. It's all about showing the world the real, unedited you. Because, whoa, when you're as cool as a cucumber and authentic, people can't help but want in on your vibe. Let's turn your brand into a story that everyone's eager to follow.

It is also important to work on your personal branding by defining your unique USP and to ensure consistency across all your communication channels, including your website, social media profiles, email newsletters, and promotional materials. Consistent messaging helps reinforce your brand identity and build trust with your audience.

Building a personal brand always takes time and it is not one day or one night job. To build a brand a person need to be in every social media platform and share the valuable content that other can learn from it. Also the person should be able to create the impact in audience's life. A brand can grow faster when it delivers the content that build trust, Authenticity, value and solve the problems.

Be genuine, and let your personality shine through. Represent yourself professionally in all aspects of your brand. Be honest, trustworthy, and kind, with a twist of humor; life’s too short for bland! Stay curious and keep learning. Build the usuals, website, social media, etc., but make sure they highlight what sets you apart. As Oscar Wilde said, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

For one client per day, you won't charge any consultation fee; instead, ask them to refer another client. Even implementing this strategy once a week can attract numerous new clients. You can also apply the same approach for charity work, offering one hour or one day per week for free. This technique operates on the principle that what you give out will return to you, as per universal law. You won't need to actively seek new clients; they will come to you.

Growing your network takes time. You'll learn what works and what people like about your content. Ask questions of your community and then answer them!

Leverage your existing network by reaching out to past clients, colleagues, and friends for referrals and testimonials. Consider offering introductory sessions or workshops to showcase your expertise and build rapport with potential clients.

Always look for ways to learn and expand your knowledge. Go to the places that feed your passion and will challenge your perspective. From word-of-mouth referrals to strategic partnerships, the possibilities are endless.For example, attending industry events, joining professional associations, and engaging with online communities relevant to your niche can help you expand your network and connect with potential clients who resonate with your coaching approach.Building Meaningful RelationshipsGrowing your network isn't just about accumulating contacts; it's about cultivating genuine relationships built on trust.

As a life coach, it's highly likely you work from home as an entrepreneur. Of course, that's awesome in many ways...and it can also be challenging to develop a beneficial and rich network, especially online. It takes consistent effort and initiative. Like everything, you need to be aware of your mindset about prioritizing such a thing. So, if you're not actively and consistently meeting new people, joining different groups, attending events and talking to people, you just might want to check in with your mindset. What comes up for you when you think about taking these actions? You might be surprised! It's definitely something to work on if you want a to connect with more people this way. And...it might be more fun than you think!

Building a solid network is like planting seeds of kindness. When you sprinkle kindness everywhere, people take notice. They want you in their corner, and they become your advocates. Authentic communication and unwavering honesty are the water and sunlight that help your network grow. So, be genuine, be truthful, and watch your connections bloom!

Seek out connections in professional networks. Attend discussion groups where you can meet business leaders who may be potential clients. Be creative. Venture into unconventional areas. This will expand your thinking, while growing your exposure.

As much as it may sound a cliche, your network is your net worth. As a life coach, you have to network each and every time and share with your networks about what you do. From time to time , also invest in yourself by even paying for networking events, that way, you'll interact with clients who are worthy of your services.

This is by far the most important step. Yet it is often the one people want to do last, which is funny because you became a life coach to help people :) Don’t over think it. Connect with people in the spirit of service. Learn about THEM. Listen. Share what it is you do in a way that relates to them (Forget the canned elevator pitch). If/when it makes sense… as in they mention a struggle they are having that you help people with, tell them. “I can help you with that.” So freaking simple. Be a human. Don’t try to sell. Try to serve. This will grow your coaching business faster than any gimmicky thing out there. And let’s be real, it’s those weird tactics that have you avoiding sales in the first place. So leave em behind!

Offering free, or low-cost webinars or workshops can help people see your skills and gain trust with your style and approach. Speaking at local, national, and international events can also be helpful to build your brand and demonstrate your expertise. When I spoke in the United Kingdom and in Amsterdam last fall, it was helpful to talk with doctors there and see that many of the issues we face in this country are similar regarding burnout and workplace stressors.

Follow up is the key for them to join you if not right now, but maybe later sometime, if we keep on giving value to them, especially related to their personal challenges.

Be consistent with making yourself seen. This means social channels as well as email. Remember, they are watching you and it is just a matter of your message connecting to them right when they need it. Use your expertise to know their potential pain points and speak about those and what your solution can do for them. Too often we talk about us as we see it. Get inside your ideal clients mindset. What would they need to hear to take action?

Being intentional with your outreach is pivotal to impact and growth. Some of the things you can do is: - Create a support group for a very specific problem your potential clients generally have. - Create frameworks that will help your potential clients simply get started. The hardest part is getting started. - Create visual and auditory content that can serve as inspiration pieces to keep your audience engaged. Sharing your heart and your passion for why you’re doing this is vital. - Just be visible the more you connect and occupy your space! People are searching for you and your unique skills but if you don’t speak or create simply because you’re afraid or you’re overthinking the process you’ll miss out on the best part of connecting.

When selling your coaching program, think of it as selling a sports car, assume they can't wait to close the deal!! Describe it in detail, highlighting the cherry apple red color, the profile, the trim package, the leather seats, and the heated steering wheel. Be the expert selling a Porche — let clients see you as their turbocharged solution. Testimonials are your fuel; ignite trust with real stories. When closing the deal, shift gears with active listening and tailored solutions. As Coco Chanel said, "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." Sell them on unique, powerful, and captivating you. Now, all you have to do is set up the first appointment, and it's done!

To expand your client base, adopting a mindset of genuine support and empathy towards others is crucial. It's not enough to offer your services; you must demonstrate your vulnerability, share your testimony and vision, and provide compelling pricing. Offering free content that adds value to potential clients can significantly increase your client base, but it's essential to do so without expecting anything in return.

It can be very hard to “ask for the sale” Maybe because if you think of what you do is all about a sale, then you feel like you’re selling something instead of helping people. Trust yourself and the people you serve. If what you have to offer is indeed, valuable, useful and supportive you’ll get more clients. If I have to SELL you on my value, then I have done a disservice to you and myself. Demonstrate value through service and clients will want to work with you.

My favorite saying is “You don’t G-E-T unless you A-S-K!” I like to ask these two questions for a one call close: 1. “After everything you’ve seen and heard from me, what do you see as the best next step?” 2. “Is there anything keeping you from moving forward together today?” Need help with this? #careerupgrader

I watched a great video on YouTube from one of my favorite sales mentors I learn from. He reminded me of a lesson I learned a few years back: everyone goes through life facing problems and challenges. At different stages of your life the problems will change but overall everyone faces issues at some point or other. This offers an incredible opportunity. If you can help them solve their problem than you might be exactly what they were looking for. Simply offering your services to solve their problems can lead to new clients. There isn’t one single way to solve someone’s problem. Your way might work for them. If you don’t ask and offer to help there’s no way they can accept your solution. Be bold and ask. What’s the worst outcome?

If someone contacts me regarding yoga therapy, I always make it a point of sending information that they can peruse at their leisure. Later, I follow up with a call, asking when they would like to book their consultation. Speak confidently about your services, its merit and success.

Remember that selling from a place of service is not about you getting something, It's about you giving something. When you sell from a place of compassion rather than from your ego you are providing a great service. You are showing love!

Asking for the business with confidence is essential for coaches. You must assertively communicate the value you provide and why your services are worth the investment. Approach potential clients with conviction, knowing that you have the expertise to fulfill their needs. Be clear about the benefits they'll gain and how your services align with their goals. When you exude confidence in yourself and your offering, clients are more likely to trust your abilities and commit to working with you. So, don't hesitate to ask for the business—your confidence will reassure them that they're making the right choice.

Delivering excellence is the goal, both for your client and for your personal satisfaction. To do this you need to carve our space for continuous learning and personal growth. Have your own support network and healthy habits so you can over deliver. That's a win-win for all and means happy clients as well as a happy coach.

Actually, excellence brings excellence. You do realize that if you offer excellent services to your client, they'll also refer their networks to you and that way you will be in business. Clients will always want to get value for their money and the only way to do that is being excellent when it comes to delivering

In first place to deliver the excellence then one need to be highly expert because when you deliver it then deliver it in such a way that it creates the impact and remembered forever in life. Also give more personal touch and authentic and real in life with examples.

The first step is getting clear on your energetic capability and output. Once you know that, you can get very clear on your client process. Are you available for calls outside of sessions? How often can your clients contact you? How should they contact you? Are you a high-touch coach or a low-touch coach.

No one wants to do business with someone who appears unprepared or unorganized in their processes. Give them a great experience that they will want to share a positive review or referral to your business.

Delivering excellency is the key in life coaching.. Your work speak for itself and you grow your business by referral from clients who experience positive changes in their behavoral patterns.

When a client is truly met where they are and a coach delivers the experience and process. AND asks for the business! A current client will always refer more clients to the coach when that expectation is set and maintained.

Transforming the client who trusted us is the outcome of the Coaching and there by building life long relationship. While few clients are easily Coachable and trust and follow the process, its critical to identify the ones who are behind, unable to hold the hand and are lost in their life activities. They are the ones who need to be reminded and to be worked on with additional care and support. And then its about helping them get results... once this is taken care of the outcome is beyond excellence !! As we gain this trust and wins created, we become a part of the Client's Big Celebrations !!

The most important question to consider is: how can you create more conversations? Coaching clients are usually born out of relationships. And most relationships in coaching start with a conversation. Different people have different preferences and strengths when it comes to creating conversations and relationships. Some use social media, write blogs or books, others figure out advertising, their website's SEO and conversion efficiency, while others go to in-person events or engage local or online communities. What these all have in common is that you're creating opportunities to start a conversation and/or build a relationship in some way. All you need to learn then is the skill to transition from a conversation into a consultation.

Another thing to consider is going beyond your niche to understanding who your client is. With that in mind, your efforts are focused on not only what you have to give, but who is to receive it. When you plan with your client in mind, you are more likely to successfully meet his or her needs.

Sales = Saving People. My life changed when I began to love sales. Most of us fear sales, don't feel comfortable in sales, feel greedy and guilty, ego comes in between, fear sets in. Be authentic!! That’s what works best and lasts most! I always say a coach is only as successful as their coachee. In a dizzying world of SM , real is rare. Dare to be that!

I would like to add as a coach, I have found it very beneficial to invest in a mentor and a coach. It helps me grow and evolve as well as be a better coach to my clients. I strongly believe in personal and professional development. It is also important to be in community with others to discuss your wins and challenges as well as brainstorm together to address any issues that you may be facing such as how to attract more clients.

The biggest problem in anything in the corporate or humanitarian world is loyalty and trust. If you want to make an everlasting impression that will instill hope and vision and your clients it's quite simple... Just speak the truth and don't fabricate tools to grab attention that have no depth in them

By combining proactive marketing strategies with a commitment to delivering exceptional results, you can attract more clients and grow your coaching business effectively

On the topic of creating or sharing content to create connections and build relationships, I’ve often found that some coaches find it challenging to find their voice. Either they are not clear on what they want to share or they do know what they want to share but feel overwhelmed by the amount of voices already occupying that conversational space, typically the feelings of not being seen or heard results in not sharing anything. My advice is generally to encourage people is to write or create content that they themselves would like to read and share that with loved ones, friends and family to build confidence and relationships. However, I would love to hear thoughts on this from others.
