While the weather isn’t ideal for camping in most of the country right now, shopping in the off-season can give you some of the best deals of the year. In fact, one of our go-to retailers for outdoor and camping equipment has marked down hundreds of top-rated favorites. Yes, we’re talking about REI’s end-of-year sale and the REI outlet sale, where you’ll find discounts of up to 62%. Since many of the best deals will only last for a few days after Christmas — or even sooner, if REI sells out — we recommend shopping sooner rather than later. To help our fellow outdoor enthusiasts, we roped off 43 of the best deals from the brand’s after-Christmas sale on everything from our favorite fire pit to select colors of Yeti tumblers. Whether 2025 takes you to the lake, campsite, or crag, you can stock up now and enjoy these discounts — starting at $7 — into the new year and beyond. Best REI After-Christmas Deals Overall Solo Stove Mesa XL Fire Pit, $70, originally $100 Eureka SPRK Camp Grill, $90, originally $150 Hydro Flask All Around Travel Tumbler 40 Ounce, $20, originally $40 Yeti Rambler 30-Ounce Tumbler with MagSlider Lid, $30, originally $38 REI Co-op Nalgene Sustain Graphic Wide-Mouth Water Bottle, $11, originally $17 REI Co-op Cool Haul 18 Soft Cooler, $45, originally $120 REI Co-op Cool Haul 12 Soft Cooler, $40, originally $100 Best REI Camping Deals If you’re in the market for basic camping gear, like a tent and a sleeping bag, or a portable furniture upgrade — think folding chairs or a lightweight table for meal prep — you’ll want to take advantage of this huge REI sale. Now’s the time to snag top-rated inventory in limited-edition prints, like the Eno DoubleNest Hammock (one of my all-time favorite outdoor purchases) and the REI Co-op Flannel/Fleece Blanket, at discounts of up to 50%. Big Agnes Woodchuck Camp Table, $91, originally $130 REI Co-op Flannel/Fleece Blanket, $42, originally $60 REI Co-op Outward Classic Lawn Chair, $63, originally $90 Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 Tent, $371, originally $530 ENO DoubleNest Hammock, $59, originally $85 Sea to Summit Trailhead 30 F Synthetic Sleeping Bag, $126, originally $179 Nemo Dagger OSMO 2P Tent, $395, originally $530 The North Face Cozy Cabin Blanket, $140, originally $200 ALPS Mountaineering Wavelength Blanket, $60, originally $80 Big Agnes Mica Basin Camp Chair, $105, originally $150 Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 3 Tent, $245, originally $350 REI Co-op Camp Blanket, $70, originally $100 REI Co-op Half Dome SL 3+ Tent with Footprint, $199, originally $399 Big Agnes Woodchuck Camp Table REI $130 $91 at REI This top-rated camp table from Big Agnes is made for backpacking, so it’s extra compact, and has a sturdy surface that you can roll up when it’s time to get going. One reviewer says it’s the “perfect height for camp chair cocktails,” and we like that point. It also comes in three fun, colorful designs. Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 Tent REI $530 $371 at REI No camping list would be complete without a tent, and the Copper Spur HV UL2 Tent from Big Agnes stands out to me as one of the best from this REI sale, knowing the brand’s reputation for quality gear. Made for two, this backpacking tent feels extra roomy with flaps on the two doors that you can prop up with trekking poles to create shady canopies. While it’s designed for three seasons (spring, summer, and fall), it stands up to light snow — as well as wind and rain. Best REI Drinkware Deals Whether you’re setting out for a week in the backcountry or a two-mile trail on a hot day, staying hydrated outdoors should be top of mind. But the best part of buying outdoor-approved drinkware on sale is that you’ll end up using it daily, getting the best possible value. I was excited to find some of my favorites from Yeti, Hydro Flask, and Nalgene on sale, as well as water bottles from brands other Food & Wine editors love, including Stanley and Klean Kanteen. Yeti Rambler 30-Ounce Tumbler with MagSlider Lid, $30, originally $38 Hydro Flask Limited Edition All Around Travel 40-Ounce Tumbler 40 Ounce, $28, originally $40 Hydro Flask All Around Travel 40-Ounce Tumbler, $20, originally $40 REI Co-op Nalgene Sustain Graphic Wide-Mouth Water Bottle, $11, originally $17 REI Co-op Solid Graphic Camp 12-Ounce Mug, $16, originally $23 Stanley IceFlow AeroLight Vacuum 50-Ounce Water Bottle with Fast Flow Lid, $38, originally $55 Klean Kanteen TKWide 32-Ounce Insulated Water Bottle, $31, originally $45 Yeti Yonder 25-Ounce Water Bottle with Yonder Chug Cap, $20, originally $25 Yeti Rambler 35-Ounce Straw Mug, $29, originally $42 Hydro Flask Standard-Mouth 24-Ounce Vacuum Water Bottle, $24, originally $40 Hydro Flask Limited Edition Wide-Mouth 32-Ounce Vacuum Water Bottle 32 Ounce, $31, originally $45 Stanley IceFlow AeroLight 24-Ounce Vacuum Water Bottle with Fast Flow Lid, $24, originally $35 GSI Outdoors Slim Can Cozy, $13, originally $20 Yeti Rambler 30-Ounce Tumbler with MagSlider Lid 30 Ounce REI $38 $30 at REI We’ve tested enough Yeti gear to have our favorites, and this tumbler is one of mine. Its double-wall vacuum insulation keeps drinks impressively hot — a big plus on cold mornings outside. Its lid contains spills, so I never have a problem driving around with it, and it keeps my coffee piping hot, meaning I can sip slowly. Yeti tumblers rarely go on sale, so grab one of the discounted colors while you can. Hydro Flask Limited Edition All Around Travel 40-Ounce Tumbler REI $40 $28 at REI This Hydro Flask Travel Tumbler ranks among my favorite purchases of 2024. Despite its huge, 40-ounce size, it fits in a cup holder and is easy to hold thanks to the handle. I can report that the lid keeps liquids in, even if you carry it at an angle; you’d have to turn it nearly upside down to get water to leak. My favorite feature, however, is the flexible straw because it reminds me more of a plastic straw (in the best way) than the hard straws on other tumbler mugs. These limited-edition color combos caught my eye, but REI also marked down the same 40-ounce tumbler in five solid colors. Best REI Cooler and Food Storage Deals To keep food cold and contained outdoors, you need to consider insulation and durability. We found the whole gamut of coolers on sale, from highly portable picks starting at just $40 to Dometic’s heavy-duty electric cooler. We also spotted two top-rated storage bins from Dometic that, while not insulated, are great for holding nonperishables and gear. REI Co-op Cool Haul 18 Soft Cooler, $45, originally $120 REI Co-op Cool Haul 12 Soft Cooler, $40, originally $100 Hydro Flask 12-Ounce Food Jar, $26, originally $35 GSI Outdoors Folding Cutting Board, $7, originally $10 Dometic CFX3 75 Dual Zone Powered Cooler, $1,000, originally $1,250 Dometic GO Hard-Sided 50 Liter Storage Bin, $105, originally $150 Dometic GO Soft-Sided 20 Liter Storage Bin, $70, originally $100 REI Co-op Cool Haul 18 Soft Cooler REI $120 $45 at REI At 62% off, this REI Co-Op cooler is one of the best discounts on our list. Weighing just over 3 pounds and measuring 11 x 13 x 15 inches, it’s a great mid-sized option for up to 18 cans (with room for ice). In addition to a shoulder strap, it has two handles at the top and two on the sides, so you can easily lift it from any angle. It has a pocket on the inside of the lid, while eight loops on the front let you hook on anything from a water bottle to your keys for safe keeping. We also like that it’s made from sustainable materials, including durable recycled nylon on the exterior. Best REI Camp Cooking Deals Cooking and dining outdoors can take a lot of forms, from freeze-dried meals that only need hot water to full dinners cooked over a camp grill (like this one that’s 40% off). Somewhere in the middle are fire pits, like the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 and Solo Stove Mesa XL, which, along with accessories like a griddle, can be used for much more than roasting marshmallows. Solo Stove Bonfire Fire Pit with Stand 2.0, $220, originally $300 Solo Stove Mesa XL Fire Pit, $70, originally $100 Eureka SPRK Camp Grill, $90, originally $150 Gerber Hiking Collection Combo Kit, $54, originally $90 Ignik Gas Growler 3.8 Naked, $60, originally $80 Leatherman Wave Plus Multi-Tool, $96, originally $120 MSR IsoPro Fuel Canister 16 Ounce, $8, originally $11 GSI Outdoors Gourmet Pourover Java Set, $40, originally $55 Solo Stove Bonfire Fire Pit with Stand 2.0 REI $300 $220 at REI The Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 reigns as the best fire pit we’ve tested. It’s lightweight, portable, and easy to set up, and you can clean up the ash without leaving a trace thanks to a detachable base and ash pan. It gives off almost no smoke or smoke smell, so your clothes won’t smell like a bonfire every time you light it. It’s built to last and we can confirm that it holds up well over long-term use, making it a great value for your money. Gerber Hiking Collection Combo Kit REI $90 $54 at REI With a knife for prepping, large spork for serving, and an eight-in-one multi-tool (it’s a corkscrew, bottle opener, fine blade, and scissors to name just a few functions), you can be prepared for so many scenarios. Pack them “just in case,” and you’ll be surprised how how often you reach for them. The pieces are corrosion-resistant, and the whole set weighs just 6.5 ounces, not including the knife’s leather sheath. Best REI Outdoor Tech Deals JBL Clip 4 Eco Speaker, $50, originally $80 JBL Flip 6 Speaker, $100, originally $130 BioLite HeadLamp 425, $30, originally $60 Zempire Luken Lantern, $30, originally $50 InfinityLab InstantCharger 100W 4 USB, $60, originally $80 JBL Clip 4 Eco Speaker REI $80 $50 at REI I’ve been considering this portable speaker, and now that I’ve spied it on sale for 37% off, I may finally cave. Its compact size makes it easy to throw in a pack, and since it’s waterproof and dustproof, you can bring it out on a kayak or to the crag without the elements compromising its sound. BioLite HeadLamp 425 REI $60 $30 at REI We love a camping tool that’s just as useful in our regular routines. When you’re not sleeping under the stars and needing the light, a headlamp is convenient for hands-free cooking on your backyard grill or pizza oven at night. It’s also excellent for runners, as it has a safety light on the back to help others see you. This headlamp has high and low power settings, which give it a run time of about 40 to 60 hours, respectively. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
