Phoebe Lapine New York-based food and health writer Phoebe Lapine is a gluten-free chef, culinary instructor, and the creator of the award-winning blog Feed Me Phoebe, named by Women’s Health Magazine as the top nutrition read of 2017. A self-proclaimed “healthy hedonist,” Lapine focuses on ways to improve health without sacrificing life’s pleasures, which she explores in her blog and 2017 memoir The Wellness Project. In addition to Food & Wine, her work has appeared in Marie Claire, Serious Eats, Epicurious, Shape, Glamour, Self, HuffPost, and others. Experience Phoebe Lapine was raised on “crunchy health food” and spent much of her youth rebelling against it. Her love of food inspired Lapine to co-found a home cook website, Big Girls, Small Kitchen, for 20-somethings like herself. She left her corporate job at Loreal to pursue a career in food, publishing her first cookbook In the Small Kitchen. Lapine’s life and health took a dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, which led her on a journey of self-care and complete lifestyle change. She has become a vocal advocate for Hashimotos and SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), which she has been diagnosed with as well. Lapine published her third book SIBO Made Simple (2021) to help others deal with the disease and hosts a podcast of the same name. In addition to writing and blogging, she has taught cooking at the Institute of Culinary Education, the Natural Gourmet Institute, and Haven’s Kitchen, and spoken at Well Summit, Good Fest, WEForum, and Blog Her Health. Lapine was named one of Mind Body Green’s 100 Women to Watch in Wellness. Education Phoebe graduated from Brown University, receiving a bachelor of arts in urban studies.
