This year, the candy brand is introducing a limited-edition Halloween Foot Spray. Yes, you read that correctly: a fruity-scented spray for your feet. Known for its tangy, chewy candies, Airheads has decided that the best way to celebrate the spooky season is by helping you mask whatever horrors are lurking in your sneakers. The scented spray apparently smells exactly like a cherry Airhead bar. It’s like trick-or-treating for your toes — just minus the candy and the whole eating part. 20 Halloween Recipes Celebrating Gourds, Ghouls, Candy, and Fall Spices According to the good folks at Airheads, this spray is meant to “refresh” your feet and “frighten away bad smells.” Whether or not a normal person wants their feet to smell like a middle school vending machine remains to be seen, but if you’ve ever dreamed of stepping out of your shoes and being greeted by a whiff of cherry candy, now’s your chance. Airheads' cherry-scented foot spray will be available for free on the brand's website between October 14–18. Courtesy of Highdive “We wanted to create something fun and unexpected for Halloween this year, something that would take our signature flavors beyond the candy aisle,” said Craig Cuchra, vice president of marketing at Airheads’ parent company, Perfetti Van Melle. “This spray is all about bringing smiles in an unexpected way." Mission accomplished, Craig. We’re all smiling. And scratching our heads. A burning question many of us might have is — why feet, Airheads? Of all the places to slap your candy scent, why did you pick the part of the body least associated with freshness? Is this a trick, a treat, or some kind of prank Airheads is playing on all of us? Feet are typically the most neglected body part — and, let’s face it, often the smelliest. So why not give them the chance to shine… or, in this case, smell like candy? 10 Halloween Cocktails That Are All Treats, Not Tricks And sure, in the grand tradition of Halloween, there’s a trick-or-treat element at play here. It’s less about candy and more about confusing people with the sudden sweet smell of cherry wafting from your sneakers. In that sense, it’s a trick you can play on others — or yourself. Airheads isn’t the first candy company to wander off into the land of non-edible products. We’ve had Skittles-scented candles, Reese’s-flavored lip balm, and even candy-scented hand sanitizers (thanks, 2020). But this foot spray takes things to new, delightfully bizarre heights. While scented lotions or candles are easy enough to understand, Airheads apparently said, “Let’s aim lower — like, at the ground.” If you want a bottle, the good news is the spray is free, so at least your wallet won’t smell funny after the purchase. The brand is giving away a limited number of bottles each day between October 14 and October 18 on its website between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. ET. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
