We didn't hear a single report that Christian Ponder wouldn't be able to play in the lead-up to the Vikings-Packers game last week.

But then Saturday afternoon hit, and Ponder was suddenly and surprisingly ruled out with a bruised throwing arm.
Well, now we have a better idea of exactly why an NFL player can't play through an arm bruise. Shari Gross of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune tweeted out this picture today, and it's gruesome.
According to coach Leslie Frazier, the bruise simply never healed like they thought it would and Ponder wasn't able to move his arm like he needed to.
