The NFL Draft was dominated by the state of Florida

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was the first named called at the NFL Draft, but neither the school nor the state were even close to being done.

Of the 256 players selected in the draft, 11 went to school at Florida State, tops among all schools. The University of Florida (8) and Miami (7) joined FSU among the top five. In all, 31 players were drafted from schools in the state of Florida, 12.1% of all players chosen.

Overall, 98 different schools had players chosen, with SEC schools leading the way with 54 players. They were followed by the ACC (47), Pac-12 (39), Big Ten (35), and Big 12 (25).
