Kickstarter has birthed a number of different Apple cases and accessories with varying degrees of success, but a new aluminum iPhone bumper project is already successfully funded and there are still 40 days to go.
It's called the AL13. You no doubt remember the plastic iPhone bumpers that Apple gave away for free to placate people who complained about the iPhone 4's antenna. The AL13 is a similar product for your iPhone 5, except it's made out of "aerospace aluminum."
A bumper seems to be an ideal compromise for someone who hates cases but still wants some protection for his phone, so we're not surprised to see this raising so much money.
