I've been an active member of the Raspberry Pi community for a while, and one bug-bear for me was that many guides, tutorials and how-to's were often written as though you had an understanding of some, if not all, of the terminology / technology involved, which detracted from the ethos of the Raspberry Pi being accessible for complete beginners.

As a result, I started my own blog - raspberrycoulis.wordpress.com - that included my take on how-to guides and tutorials for the Raspberry Pi community to benefit from. After a while, I saw that the guys at Pi Supply were on the lookout for contributors to their new Maker Zone, so I volunteered my services and have since become a regular writer for them.

My guides, including my take on building a Raspberry PiStation Retro Games Console, which was featured on other Raspberry Pi and technology blog sites including Adafruit, Life Hacker, The Pi Hut and Raspberry Pi Pod.

I am also the man behind the @RaspberryCoulis Twitter account too!

    Science and Technology

I am now a regular contributor to The MagPi Magazine, which is the official magazine of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. I have already written several guides that have been featured in the magazine, and I enjoy adding additional guides and tutorials online and in print wherever possible.

After initially carrying out this work voluntarily, I have since been offered paid freelance work off the success of my previous contributions.

We love Raspberry Pi for how it’s helping a new generation of children learn to code, how it’s resulted in an explosion of new makers of all ages, and how it’s really easy to turn any TV into a smart TV.

After initially struggling to get Ghost up and running on my own Raspberry Pi, I decided to document my experiences and create Ghost Pi to show others how to do the same.

I also helped contribute to the Ghost codebase, specifically updating the port-polling.js script to allow lower-powered devices, such as the Raspberry Pi, to work without issue. This was released in version 1.5.2 of the Ghost-CLI tool.
