PPC and SEO: What's the difference? Both PPC and SEO help to increase the visibility of your business online by placing your website content on search engine results pages (SERPs) but they achieve it in different ways and timescales. If you're looking for quick results, opt for PPC. You'll be paying for your ads to appear at the top of SERPs when users are searching for the keywords you're targeting. SEO is a longer-term strategy to get your pages to organically rank higher in SERPs for target keywords. The results aren't as immediate as PPC but if you are continually working on optimising pages, your should consistently see your content rank highly. How I used to get leads: 👉 Cold email everyone 👉 Cold call local businesses 👉 Go to networking meetings How I now get leads: 📈 Inbound requests 📈 Get referrals from our clients 📈 Utilise our tried and tested ad funnels The first requires you to continuously do something. The second is scalable and predictable. Do the first 3 things if you want instant results. Do the last 3 things if you want a system.

My top advice for businesses with large databases of unconverted leads: Use email and SMS remarketing to convert the leads you've already paid for. Look, you’ve already spent hundreds of thousands of pounds generating leads in the last few years. Now, it’s your time to reap the benefits by getting some lower-cost conversions through email and SMS. In our experience, it can cost you 80% less than what it does to convert a cold sale from digital marketing channels like Google and Facebook. The bottom line: Make sure you’re leveraging your database to the best of its ability. So, you start to get back some of the investment you’ve made in building it. But whatever you do… Don’t let an agency or somebody else take advantage of all that money you’ve spent by trying to charge you an inflated fee per sale. 😛

Biggest red flag for new businesses? 🚩 Assuming or even worse.. being told that a new website is going to make you sales! Yes having an easy to navigate and convert website will absolutely assist in conversions but assuming that sales will flood in when you launch a shiny new website is a massive lie. That’s like having a shiny new car without putting petrol in it.. it’s not going to drive anywhere! Same method applies to marketing = 🏎️ You need a strategy & forecast on how you’re going to get traffic to your website through different channels! If you want to drive X in revenue then work it backwards to how much traffic you need to generate based on your average order value and estimated conversion! Chances are your budgests will likely be limited so remember: Don’t try and do it all at once. Slow and steady wins the race 💸
