We see far too often a digital transformation in the NHS is seen as an IT Project opposed to a trust transformation. Here's a few reasons why clinicians should be leading the way in EPR transformations. 1️⃣ Clinicians Understand the Workflow It's simple. Clinicians deeply understand the intricacies of healthcare workflows - knowledge that's crucial to tailoring an EPR that streamlines and simplifies rather than complicates. 2️⃣ Enhancing Patient Care Clinicians are the patient care champions. By driving EPR implementation, they ensure that systems prioritise patient outcomes - a seamless integration of technology with compassionate care. 3️⃣ Adoption and Adaptation When clinicians lead, adoption skyrockets. I attended an IoT seminar over the weekend here, and one of the speakers brought up the topic of workflows and stuff relating to email, had a bit of a laugh when the question was brought up to the audience about how full your inbox is. But I kinda felt like the odd man out, cause I keep most of my inboxes pretty clean (0 or 1-3 lingering emails as reminders), so I kinda wanted to share how I kinda do things. To be fair, I don't usually get emails in the 100s or even thousands a day/week (I'm not that popular :P), but think this will likely help to lighten the load. 1. Unsubscribe from Everything!! 🔥🔥🔥 - A little hyperbolic, but unsub to most promo emails, non direct-mention notifications, if you're on newsletters for coupons or community events keep those, but if you don't want them throwing off your attention, apply filters like the speaker brought up and move on with your life. 2. Read & Forget - Basically for those other emails, give them your attention in whatever slot of your day you choose to engage with them, then just delete or archive them depending on the severity of the email - To go back to the event email example, just mark it on your calendar then delete, it no longer needs your attention and likely won't be a returning thing so you won't be needing it in the future, like invoices or tax documents - The rest just archive, even if it's a reoccurring thread, it'll show back up in the inbox when someone sends a reply. I personally don't do the filtering stuff all the much, since I'm not really juggling 2-5 different things to justify the extra friction, but at the end of the day it's all about whatever you find works for you, and it's worked for me so far. #workflow #emails #productivity

The deadline for Payment Service Providers #PSPs to register with Pay.UK in advance of the implementation of the #APP Reimbursement Rule is tomorrow, 20th August. All UK in scope-PSPs for the forthcoming APP reimbursement rules are first required to register with Pay.UK, the recognised standards body for the UK interbank payment systems which will be implementing the APP reimbursement requirement. 🗓️ The reimbursement rule for fraudulent transactions made through FPS comes into force on 7th October 2024. The NHS is experiencing a significant loss of staff, which is detrimental to its operations both physically and financially. In fact, NHS staff vacancies reports a vacancy rate at the end of December 2023 of 8.4%. Therefore, it is crucial for them to adopt software solutions that can enhance both clinical and administrative processes. By enabling staff members to concentrate on their responsibilities, many of the challenges they face can be alleviated. This will result in a more balanced workload, leading to happier staff, stronger colleague relationships, and a more harmonious work environment. The conversation about engagement with Clinician's when undertaking a Digital Transformation has been rearing it's head a lot in recent months. In my opinion, the key benefit to Clinician's being involved with the implementation/optimisation of an EPR is the fact that once it's live, they are more likely to utilise it to it's full effect and ensure a Trust is receiving the best value for money. It's also well documented that Clinician's are much more likely to remain in their current role if they're happy with the EPR that they are using on a daily basis. A poorly configured EPR will add to the stress levels of a Clinician, and in many cases can lead to the Clinician moving on to pastures new. IT Works Health LTD #ConnectingExperts #NHS #EPR

Trying to get your health tech solution into the NHS? Buckle up, it’s a long road, but here’s your roadmap..... We’ve been working with companies to navigate the complexities of getting their tech adopted by the NHS, and it’s clear that persistence and a clear plan are key. Here’s a quick guide based on what we’ve learned along the way: 1. Figure out the real need If your solution doesn’t solve a genuine problem for the NHS, it’s going to be a tough sell. Do your research upfront. That’s field research as well. 2. Clinical evidence is non-negotiable No solid clinical trials, no traction. Simple as that. Gather data, prove your solution works. 3. Build relationships with the right people It’s all about the stakeholders. Start engaging with NHS Trusts and Health Innovation Networks early. You need to have a BD mindset and start making those connections they pay off. 4. Tailor your solution to NHS workflows Don’t expect to just drop in your tech. You’ll need to adapt it to fit NHS needs and systems. 5. Understand the procurement process This one’s a marathon. Get familiar with the ins and outs of NHS procurement—it’s long, but persistence pays off. Breaking into the NHS isn’t easy, but with the right strategy, you can get there.
