#oneteam At Oxford Medical Simulation we all come together under our core values: One Team, Care and Pride and Growth Mindset. These are not just our values but we try, every day, to live these values as part of our culture. In both military and business settings, success is rarely achieved alone—it's the result of collective effort, shared vision, and unwavering teamwork. As team members, it's our responsibility to foster a culture where every individual feels valued, empowered, and united towards a common goal - this is particularly important for leaders and essential that they foster that culture and lead this within the team. Just as a cohesive unit operates seamlessly within the military, a high-performing team thrives in the corporate arena. At Oxford Medical Simulation, we embody the spirit of "One Team," recognizing that our greatest achievements are born out of collaboration, mutual respect, and trust. To those in a team and those leading those team, I urge you to embrace the power of collaboration, if not already. Break down silos, bridge divides, and work together towards shared success. When we unite as one team, there's no limit to what we can achieve. #chiefoperatingofficer #collaboration #teamwork

We’re halfway through 2024. Where on earth did the time go? Are you prepared for your half-year review? Are you on schedule? Do you have ground to claw back? If so, do you have a plan for how? There’s still lots of time and lots to do in 2024. We’re expecting a number of important medical technology products to reach important availability milestones during the second half of the year with Q4 typically the busiest period for new launches. Amongst them is Boston Scientific’s Farapulse Pulsed Field Ablation system that leverages electric fields to selectively ablate heart tissue. After receiving approval from the FDA in February, the system is expected to be launched in the US in the second half of 2024, it has been available in Europe since 2022. Medtronic’s Affera PFA system received the nod in Europe and the US last year and is expected to be fully available in these territories within the next 12 months. Stryker are reportedly targeting launch of the Mako spine and shoulder applications this year. Mako Spine is an application designed to integrate the company's new bone-cutting product. Mako Shoulder is targeted to enhance precision within total shoulder replacement. Also within surgical robotics and orthopaedics, Zimmer Biomet expect to launch their ROSA Shoulder application as one of the only systems that can reproduce humeral head resectioning in the US later this year. There are many others, and there will be more that slip out of 2024 in to 2025 and beyond. The above-mentioned companies reportedly spent over $6 Billion on R&D in 2023. Total R&D spend across the Life Sciences industries was greater than $300 Billion COALITION ltd have a mission to speed progress within medical devices and other highly regulated industries. I am beyond excited to make not one, but TWO announcements today. ONE: It’s been a long time coming, but I have started my own 100% Woman Owned Business, 432 Hz, LLC. My focus will be on coaching and consulting on various business/sales processes, developing interpersonal skills for youth to better align with their future professional demands, and providing education around reliability philosophy and processes, aiming to highlight the real career opportunities within the skilled trades.#Collegeisnotforeveryone TWO: I am so thrilled to announce that I have joined Syngentic as the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In this role, I will focus on uncovering the needs of commercial, industrial, and governmental sectors to deliver innovative solutions that enhance reliability and safety while reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), particularly with the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Syngentic is committed to leading the industrial landscape in the digitization of manuals, work instructions, and workflows, with the purpose of digitalization for frontline workers through the use of AR technology. Revolutionizing the way frontline workers operate by providing real-time data visualization, enabling data-driven decision-making, hands-free access to critical information, and interactive training tools will lead to increased efficiency, reliability, improved safety and lower cost. Our goal is to bring practical and effective AR solutions to the industrial workforce. I would like to thank all those who indulged my curious nature and imparted their wisdom, and sometimes skepticism, to me, as it was all part of the growth and development I needed to arrive here. It created my drive to focus on reliability, understanding that it’s not just a word but a core principle I live by. At Syngentic, I will leverage this experience to ensure we prioritize customers' needs and bring value with every interaction. Thank you all for your support over the years. I am looking forward to embarking on this new journey together with you and the Syngentic team! #CRO#Syngentic#Aumented Reality#TeamViewer#Reliability#Safety#Growth

Have you heard of Strategic Planning Simulations? They are tools or processes used by organisations to simulate real-world scenarios in a controlled environment. These simulations can vary widely in complexity and scope, from simple tabletop exercises to sophisticated computer-based simulations. The primary goal of strategic planning simulations is to enhance participants' understanding of strategic decision-making processes, improve their problem-solving skills, and foster collaboration and communication within teams. But the question arises, are companies really equipped to do this? Are employees really interested in doing this? #may #mastery #StrategicPlanning #Simulation #BusinessEducation #CorporateTraining #OrganisationalDevelopment

Forbes recently invited Radix North America CEO, Alexander Clausbruch, to contribute to an article discussing key business metrics tech leaders need to track. Alex focused on a metric he often discusses as a member of the Forbes Technology Council, “company leaders need to justify their investments to stakeholders, including investors and management. Knowing the ROI helps demonstrate the financial benefits of a tech project or investment…” What do you think? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section below. While the VSP Vision Innovation Challenge judges took time to deliberate during the final showcase in Chicago last week, Ruth Yomtoubian, head of the VSP Global Innovation Center, held a fireside chat with Brent Rasmussen, CEO of Visibly on his origin story, success in the vision care industry, and what makes the #visioncare industry so interesting. Here’s Brent’s #CallToAction for #entrepreneurs and #industryleaders in the space: "I work with hundreds of U.S. companies right now using our testing platform and I have a hard time finding another Ruth. If I go to a lot of our customers and say 'Who's your head of innovation? Who's looking at new things all the time?' They go, 'Well, what do you mean, Brent?' There are people out there—don't get me wrong—but there's very little collaboration amongst the industry about how can we move the vision care experience forward and how can unify these technologies together. I've seen a presentation from this group and another one from another team, but how do we bring these folks together? The one step that helped me out immensely was presenting at Bart Foster's first Optical Innovation Summit in Boulder, CO seven years ago. I met our two largest customers there, three of our investors there, and the leads and guidance from leaders at the event accelerated our business. More #collaboration just has to happen." #visioninnovation #VSP #eyecare #innovation

📺 📺The recording from last week's special webinar presented by Dr Eike Schneiders, Transitional Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham, is now on our YouTube channel. 📺 📺 Successful entrainment during collaboration positively affects trust, willingness to collaborate, and likeability towards collaborators. In this talk Dr Schneiders discusses a paper featuring a mixed-method study to investigate characteristics of successful entrainment leading to pair and group-based synchronisation. Drawing inspiration from industrial settings, the research group designed a fast-paced, short-cycle repetitive task. Using motion tracking, they investigated entrainment in both dyadic and triadic task completion. Furthermore, they utilise audio-video recordings and semi-structured interviews to contextualise participants’ experiences/ And, finally, they present three design considerations for future research and design on collaboration with robots.
