This number should concern anyone with a business holding or processing data and the more data you're responsible for, the more concerned you should be. To give further context this represents the number of incidents the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) is aware of and since we have a UK population of approx 68.3 million which suggests some people had their personal data stolen in multiple incidents. Cyber criminals won't stop and their tactics are only getting more sophisticated so if you're not 100% certain your business is keeping data is safe & secure it's in your best interest best to check. NHS Shared Business Services is to set up a #procurement #framework for #IoT for #healthcare sites - it has published a future opportunity notice for a contract for IoT and Smart Connected Healthcare Environments, indicating that it is expected to go live in February 2026 and could cover a spend of up to £150m. The notice states: “The technology helps with a myriad of problems - from asset tracking, waste, water, air quality and energy monitoring and management, efficient usage of buildings and workspaces, telematics, smart theatres, smart street lighting, real time visibility of medical devices, home monitoring based solutions, traffic insights and signals, CCTV, cameras, IoT sensors and crime prevention.” #Smart #Health https://lnkd.in/d3NK24ps

But a new report out from @PwC_UK - which surveyed over 1200 of the UK's senior business decision-makers and interviewed more than 60 business leaders - is set to address that. 👀 New research by Hewlett Packard Enterprise has revealed that 43% of public sector organisations in the UK do not have a data strategy. The findings are part of HPE’s House of Data report, which looked at data adoption and practices across the breadth of the UK public sector. Europe's manufacturing sector faces critical challenges due to a widening skills gap, with a staggering 93% of UK businesses acknowledging an IT skills shortage and Germany forecasting a shortfall of 780,000 tech jobs by 2026. As tech-driven processes become more prevalent, the need to bridge this gap intensifies. Automation, though not a not a silver bullet, allows skilled workers to focus less on managing time-intensive processes and more on quality output. According to 2023 Harvard Business Review research, over 90% of workers reported that automation solutions boosted productivity and collaboration, while almost 90% trust these tools to perform tasks error-free and speed up decision-making.
