As anyone will tell you, I am a big believer in charity. I've done a lot of fundraising for causes I believe in but also, importantly, I enjoy practical volunteering action too. I am honoured that Oxfam have allowed me to represent them during 3 summers of Music Festival Campaigning - and I look forwards to continuing my support for their life-changing projects during my working life also.

The most dramatic action I've shown in aid of fighting poverty is definitely completing a sponsored hitch-hike to Morocco! I raised nearly £400 in sponsorship for Link Community Development's East African education project. I found this community fundraising approach fascinating and am delighted that their annual campaign is still growing.

As a music graduate I enjoy playing music in informal settings, I particularly enjoy ensemble performance because it appeals to my social nature. I enjoy keeping an open mind about what I play, where, and with whom, which has lead to some fantastic experiences in the arts. I'm currently playing a lot of folk music and have enjoyed taking part in folk festivals at Southwell, Shrewsbury and The Wirral.

I'm very proud to be an active member of the Catholic Church and I feel a huge sense of satisfaction from contributing toward Christian action in my local community - such as sandwich runs and elderly befriending. I practise my faith in partnership with young Catholics internationally, having taken great inspiration from involvement with global movements such as World Youth Day, a meeting of 4 million young Catholics in Rio de Janeiro, 2013; and Taize, an Ecumenical Monastic pilgrimage in…

I'm very proud to be an active member of the Catholic Church and I feel a huge sense of satisfaction from contributing toward Christian action in my local community - such as sandwich runs and elderly befriending. I practise my faith in partnership with young Catholics internationally, having taken great inspiration from involvement with global movements such as World Youth Day, a meeting of 4 million young Catholics in Rio de Janeiro, 2013; and Taize, an Ecumenical Monastic pilgrimage in Burgundy, France, which welcomes up to 3,000 visitors each week.

But you don't have to travel overseas to practise your faith! I also take part in a 130 mile Pilgrimage during Holy Week walking from London to Walsingham. We lived very simply for the week and spent the day mostly in prayer and reflection. I really benefited in my personal development from this incredible journey.
