The by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) funded FFplus project has opened two calls towards availability of #Highperformancecomputing capacity for #SMEs, business experiments and innovation studies. "Business experiments will address the uptake of HPC by SMEs in order to solve specific business challenges of SMEs that have had no prior use of, or experience with, HPC services. Innovation studies, in contrast, will support European SMEs and Start-ups already active in the field of generative AI technology, which lack the necessary computational resources to scale up." Unlocking semantic interoperability within and between data spaces promises significant benefits for European citizens and businesses. By enabling data from various sectors, such as transport and the environment, to be understood within the same data space or across different ones, we can facilitate the use and reuse of this data. 🚀   For instance, semantic interoperability in healthcare could reduce medical errors by allowing healthcare providers to share patient data accurately. It could also support disease monitoring by enabling healthcare professionals to seamlessly share data on disease outbreaks. However, this also highlights the associated risks, particularly concerning the privacy of sensitive data, like health information.   That's where GLACIATION's innovative meta-data fabric steps in, promoting semantic interoperability between providers in multi-edge/cloud environments to enhance the privacy and sustainability of data movement and operations. The European Commission initiated calls for proposals within Horizon Europe’s 2023-2024 digital, #industrial, and space work program, focusing on research and innovation in #artificialintelligence (AI) and quantum technologies. With an investment of €112 million in #AI, and #quantumresearch and innovation, a new series of calls has been introduced, totaling over €112 million from the 2023-2024 Horizon Europe Digital, Industry, and Space work program. Horizon Europe is an EU research and innovation framework program for 2021-2027 with a budget of €95.5 billion. 📣 BIG NEWS! EXA4MIND and StandICT.eu have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership to promote European contributions in standardisation for big data. 🗣 Stephan Hachinger, Science and Co-Design Coordinator of EXA4MIND: “Compliance with European ICT standards is an important point for EXA4MIND. Cooperating with StandICT.eu, we can collaboratively explore, leverage and help to shape data and metadata standards, protocols and policies needed for this to succeed.” Both projects share intentions to foster future standardisation in management, processing and – most importantly – exchange and usage of huge datasets across Europe. 🤔 How does EXA4MIND support European Data Spaces? → The European Union launched the European Data Strategy to create Common European Data Spaces that foster innovation, competitiveness and sustainability, while ensuring privacy and security. → EXA4MIND, funded by Horizon Europe, is at the forefront of this initiative. We aim to revolutionise data analytics by developing an extreme data mining platform and advanced analytics workflows.
