Great to explore all the initiatives that enterprises are supporting to create impact. While some initiatives look small it's clear that many small make a significant impact. So don't stop influencing the broader workplace in making these small improvement on a day to day basis. Thanks CIONET Belgium to put the focus on #ESG as instead of re-inventing the wheel we can learn so much from companies around us. Building the right attitude and evangelizing is the only long-term strategy to success. While it was clear that IT is not always the big contributor towards the company ESG goals, leading by example and using IT to measure and report on company goals should be the way forward. Stop ignoring the relevance or that it's not your responsibility are key behavior changes that need to be supported from top to bottom. Instead of searching for the all-in-one tool that does not exist it was a great statement to start with the existing tooling to create a solid baseline and start monitoring progress. But dare to use the real data and numbers as our planet has zero benefit from greenifying the results. Let's keep learning from each other, share experiences and make sure we keep convincing others to join the efforts! #iwork4dell

It is clear from this roundtable that two important points should not be overlooked: first, that legacy systems, often still on mainframe, remain surprisingly efficient and do not necessarily need to be replaced, but rather ‘opened up’ for contemporary interfacing. Secondly, there is an invaluable amount of business expertise within the teams looking after these systems that needs to be safeguarded. For sure a compelling debate !
