MARKETERS: I have questions. Cookie questions. 🍪 1. How much do you love (on a scale of 1 to 10) having to opt in or out of these consent forms on every website you visit? 2. Is this what a truly compliant consent looks like? (See image) The first freaking line is: "If you consent, we and our 825 partners can store and access personal information on your device..." Now I didn't learn copywriting directly from Ogilvy or Schwartz but I'm pretty sure that's NOT super compelling copy. But I also know that Moz's mama didn't raise no dummies so what is happening here? Is this what truly compliant consent looks like? 3. Does the much exaggerated imminent death of the cookie mean we won't have to opt in or out of these things anymore? 😅 4. How do we make it stop? 😆

I've signed high ticket deals on Twitter through DMs alone. How? Simple. My posts were perfectly optimised for sheer positioning. This means posting in a way that: ⁍ builds trust ⁍ shows you get results ⁍ makes you into a no-brainer purchase So how can you optimise your posts for positioning and bring in easy-close leads? ━━━━━━━ 1. Building Trust ━━━━━━━ You can have insane client results, and people still won't buy. Why? They don't know if you're lying. They need to GENUINELY know you, as if you were their friend. So how can you put that into posts? You just need to show personality. This can be through things like: ⁍ stories ⁍ opinions ⁍ struggles Things that make you "human" and "relatable" would build trust with your audience. ━━━━━━━━━━━━ 2. Showing you get results ━━━━━━━━━━━━ You don't know how to show results. Everyone has client results. It's easy to get them. But to show them off in a way that attracts people? Not so easy. The average writer posts: "I got my client XXX win!" The smart writer that gets results posts: "I got my client XXX win through THIS method!" Then they proceed to breakdown that method. Why does this work? It shows viewers that you KNOW what you're doing, and seems more legitimate. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 3. Making you into a no-brainer purchase ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ So how do you take them from "trusting" and "knowing you get results" to buying? By making you THE GUY in their mind. This would mean MORE authority. You got your client 1 win? Reword it and use it for 3 different posts. People may doubt and hesitate. But if every other day you see your clients winning? Reflecting on my #BrightonSEO experience from last week there were a couple of talks that really resonated with me. I was impressed with Sarah Chaya Presch who was on the main stage on Friday. Her talk was on confirmation bias, which was incredibly eye-opening. I'll explain why 👇 It's easy for people to get the answer to a question to confirm their own bias. Even if that answer adds to miss-information online. Sarah even showed examples of how the same piece of content gave two contradictory answers on whether sugar causes ADHD. Google will serve content for the question even if that will lead to diss-information, which could have long-term negative effects. It's made me realise how important our roles are as SEOs and content writers to help remove diss-information across the internet. We're just as responsible as Google in my opinion in making sure our content is factual, accurate, and fact checked by real experts. Don't just write the same content and the same answers as your competitors, as you could be unintentionally adding to miss-information and someone else's confirmation bias. How to forecast when and where AI is going to steal your website traffic If you have website content that's currently getting you traffic then, depending on the content type, you could find that disappearing from the impact of AI. It's likely that it's starting to decline already. If you have content that can easily be answered by AI (ChatGPT etc.) then why would someone go to Google to get the same answer? For example, if you had an article focused on 'How to write a proposal for business funding' and you've been getting clicks from organic Google ranking, how can you compete with AI searches that will combine a range of sources into one unbiased response? Here's how to test this in your business: 1. Go to your analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) and identify a website page (e.g. a blog page) that's historically had good or reasonable levels of website visitors. 2. Note down the numbers of visitors landing on that page each calendar month for the past 6 months (or more). 3. See if there's been a decline. 4. If there's a decline in visitors then type that search query into one of the AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.) and see what the output is, including whether you are referenced. In many cases you'll find that people using AI are taking away your organic Google traffic and need to seriously rethink your content marketing strategy to steer away from stuff that AI can easily answer. I've been seeing quite a few real-life examples of this and adoption of AI engines is nowhere near mainstream yet so there are big changes to prepare for. #ai #searchengines #googlesearch #chatgpt #perplexity #gemini

Two takeaways that chimed with me are that '75% of B2B buyers prefer a rep–free sales experience.' and that what buyers really want from a website is information to help them buy!

One component that often gets missed in therapy practice marketing is what we call conversion optimisation. It’s one thing to get lots of people to your website through marketing activities such as social media and Google Ads. But your website then has a really important job to do, which is to get a proportion of those people to take that next step and make an enquiry or book an appointment. You can be driving all the right people to your website in terms of ideal clients, but if your website's a bit confused, hard to navigate, or it’s not really clear about who you are and how you help, then it’s going to really limit the number of people that take that next step. What is also important is making sure your website does a good job in helping people get to know you. That’s where video content plays such an important role because it enables people to connect with you online and gives them confidence to then take that next step. #therapypractice #healthcaremarketingagency #healthcaremarketingtips
