Reflecting on my #BrightonSEO experience from last week there were a couple of talks that really resonated with me. I was impressed with Sarah Chaya Presch who was on the main stage on Friday. Her talk was on confirmation bias, which was incredibly eye-opening. I'll explain why 👇 It's easy for people to get the answer to a question to confirm their own bias. Even if that answer adds to miss-information online. Sarah even showed examples of how the same piece of content gave two contradictory answers on whether sugar causes ADHD. Google will serve content for the question even if that will lead to diss-information, which could have long-term negative effects. It's made me realise how important our roles are as SEOs and content writers to help remove diss-information across the internet. We're just as responsible as Google in my opinion in making sure our content is factual, accurate, and fact checked by real experts. Don't just write the same content and the same answers as your competitors, as you could be unintentionally adding to miss-information and someone else's confirmation bias. Founder of Flair | Certified ADHD coach | Neurodiversity Consultant | Using AI to make ADHD coaching accessible to ALL
🧠 Am I lazy? Or is it just ADHD? Being told "lazy" is something my clients and I have either been told or told ourselves. Our ableist society puts a heavy emphasis on productivity, so when those of us with chronic health issues like ADHD struggle with executive functioning or even just maintaining energy, the immediate reaction is often to label us—or ourselves—as lazy. 🔄 I've worked diligently over the past few years to reprogram my brain and accept that I am NOT lazy. I work very hard to accomplish tasks, but my ADHD means I sometimes struggle to regulate my energy or emotions, which impacts my ability to get things done—something those without ADHD might take for granted. 🤗 To those with ADHD or any other health condition, it’s vital to practice self-compassion, especially when you feel you're not achieving as much as you’d like. Also - no, having ADHD is not an “excuse”. It's a real neurological condition affecting the ability to regulate energy, emotions, and attention. 🌍 Let’s foster compassion in our workplaces and society. Let’s dismantle ableism and rethink what productivity really means and looks like. 🎧 Inspired by BBC World Service's Crowd Science episode "Why am I so Lazy?" I help you resolve your lifelong struggle with overeating, weight and body confidence. Self-talk coaching & Hypnosis for 40+ Women. Menopause, Emotional & Binge eating specialist
I'm in heaven when... I'm studying and writing at 5:30am in my kitchen, in the quiet. Today, I'm reading a brilliant psychology study about self-esteem and where it comes from*. I can hear nothing but the early morning traffic on the road far down in the village. One of my children sneezes. Then they go back to sleep. I can smell my coffee, feel my blanket around me, and I feel emotionally what I have always felt around learning: eager, hungry, illuminated. Is learning your happy place too? How does it make you feel? What are you studying, reading, listening to, that's opening your mind? #learning #psychology #emotionalwellbeing * The study is a meta-analysis called Gender Differences in Domain-Specific Self-Esteem, Gentile et al, 2009, Review of General Psychology. Note the date! PRE-SOCIAL MEDIA! I have seen other studies showing huge changes to body image and in eating disorders among younger age-groups, and also affecting men, since social media really kicked off.

Student of MA Media Psychology at Salford University|Child and adolescent psychotherapist| child rights advocate|
Where Therapy Meets Media: My Journey into Media Psychology Hello LinkedIn community! 🌟 I’m thrilled to start a new adventure that combines all my passions into one path! As a therapist for children and adolescents, I’ve always been fascinated by media in all its forms—from movies and shows to social media. My deep curiosity about how these influences shape young minds has led me to dive into the world of Media Psychology. So, what’s Media Psychology? It’s a unique blend of psychology, communication, and technology that unravels the “why” and “how” behind our interactions with media. Why do certain shows captivate us? Why does social media affect each of us differently? From what grabs our attention to how we connect online, Media Psychology explores all of these intriguing questions. I’m especially excited to focus on kids and teens, looking into topics like digital parenting, the ethics of media use, and how AI is shaping the experiences of young people. There’s so much potential in helping the next generation understand and interact with media in healthy, positive ways. It feels amazing to be in a field that brings together everything I’m passionate about! 🌱✨ #MediaPsychology #KidsAndMedia #DigitalParenting #MediaEthics #AI #Psychology #TechAndPsych

#AI can be a partner for students in writing assignments. In our Digital Mental health course, the applied psychology students worked in pairs to write blog posts on a topic where #psychology and #technology meet. After choosing their topic and learning about prompt writing, they wrote a prompt for #chatGPT and critically evaluated the output using #academic literature. The evaluation and rewriting process resulted in 17 interesting blog posts, of which the best 3 are now published on our website: 👩❤️👨 ‘Swipe to Forever: Nurturing Long-Term Relationship in the Age of Dating Apps’ Finding love through dating apps can be a wonderful way to meet someone special, but it's essential to navigate the unique challenges these platforms present. As I am discovering more and more about my own neurodivergence, I am struck by how common the experience is for neurotypical people to both complain about and leverage our hyperlexia. The main complaint is "You take everything so literally!" The truth of it is that we/I take information and interprete it in line with our experience. And because the experience of neurodivergence is a vast excess of negative feedback (an estimated 20K more negative comments before age 10! - https://lnkd.in/eSzAzK_M) that experience is different from other people's. The flip side of this, is that when we communicate, we do it with precision. We are experts at loopholes and ambiguity and how to avoid both. For me, this means that when I produce content, regardless of the format, it feels intuitive and straight-forward to my audience. I can walk people through an end-to-end process and anticipate where they might struggle or step off the path. My audiences often report that my writing voice is very strong or that the content I produce is easy to understand and follow. The reason is because I've walked the path myself and cleared away the trip hazards. Everyone takes everything literally -- but that doesn't mean they do it without context. #neurodivergence #content #knowledge #strengths
