More positive signs for the recruitment industry in May's market performance update from the Firefish Software Job Flow Index 📈. TL;DR🚀: - The total volume of placements increased by 3%. - Temporary & contract placements increased by 3%. - Permanent placements increased by 3%.   - Revenue per recruiter increased by 13%. Further insights📖: - Jobs created increased 5% on the month. - Nationally live job vacancies increased by 4%. - Perm Tech placements were up by 41% and Perm Marketing placements increased by 35%. - Average Revenue per Recruiter in temp increased by 12% and revenue per recruiter in the Temp & Contract Tech sector increased by 202% on the month. The job market is facing a renewed downturn as hiring freezes and cost-cutting measures take hold amidst economic uncertainty. As expected, both temporary and permanent placements decreased again in November 2024. At the same time, continued redundancies means that there are more candidates available to place. A few recruiters have mentioned that they’ve seen hiring take a positive turn so far in December, and ideally, this continues into the new year when hiring is more likely to pick up. No clear sign of what’s to come but one thing is clear: Sourcing and nurturing candidates ahead of time can only improve your chances of placing them once hiring starts to pick up. 2 tips to increase how often you get approached for relevant roles on LinkedIn ⬇: ✅ Add as many keywords to your profile as possible, you would be surprised how many Payments sales professionals don't have Payments on their LinkedIn profile and it can be causing you to lose out on loads of amazing opportunities. Recruiters use specific keywords to search for the most relevant candidates for a role, some jobs will be industry specific or will require someone who has sold in to a specific vertical so get them on your profile!! ✅ Know what role you want to be approached for and mirror your LinkedIn to be similar. I'm not saying lie about your experience but you can highlight key points which are more relevant to your desired role. These things not only make my life easier when head-hunting but will make sure you are getting approached for more desirable positions. Salt
