Why Taster Sessions and not Webinars? You may be wondering why we've gone for the Taster Session format for 6th and 9th of September's Regenerative Organisation Taster Experiences. We were planning our Autumn schedule and thought that, when people are so overwhelmed with information overload - do we really want to add to the: 'I'll sign up for the replay' kinda vibe.  Or do we want to deliver REAL VALUE IN REAL TIME to stressed- out leaders? Those of you that know myself and JK know we both like to 'get stuff done', delivering meaningful change, working with those who are the most under pressure because they are delivering for mission, purpose, people and planet. We're both doers ourselves in our work, but also in our wider lives too (Sarah with her regenerative smallholding and JK with her awesome challenges like her 5 days walking across Scotland this year). So we've designed sessions that you'll leave with practical actions, next steps and a feeling of "I got this". Why do we need to know the date of the Battle of Hastings? or the capital city of Peru... From the perspective of an alien looking in on what we are up to as a human condition (regulars will know my this is one of my favourite frames for  inquiry) how can this type of knowledge and learning be more relevant and valuable that learning about the mind or about the nature of reality and human experience? As this is not specific dig at the education curriculum (or not just that 😀) it is explore how come as a society at large don't see the relevance in that. This post for example will get way less engagement than if I posted about my views on something in popular culture or experience with a new flavour of coffee or type of yoga, or if I shared vulnerable feelings of inadequacy....😊 Just curious, how come....we focus on the content not the nature?  The paradox the alien would see is that everything we are looking for (peace, love, resourcefulness, flow)  is so much more easily consistently accessible by understanding the nature of what we are, and reality Thoughts? 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Like the message? 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 --------------------- Liked this post? Know Your Edge This week, I had the privilege of debriefing a client on their STAGES Assessment of Adult Development. The STAGES International Matrix is an innovative tool for understanding the trajectory of human consciousness. But what does that really mean? We widely recognise that children—right through to early adulthood—go through different stages of development. We see shifts in their thinking, how they relate to others and the world, and how they solve problems. Children unfold into increasingly complex and sophisticated ways of making meaning of the world and engaging with it. A 16-year-old doesn’t just know more information than an 8-year-old; they interpret the world and participate in it in entirely different ways. So… do we stop growing psychologically once we stop growing physically? Let me ask you …. Are you the same person you were 10, or even 5, years ago? Probably not. Receiving a STAGES assessment is a powerful experience because it locates precisely where you are on this profound developmental trajectory. Many of us spend decades—perhaps a lifetime— brush cutting away the weeds to our leading edge: that place where we bring our fullest competencies whilst leaning into a new frontier still … new capacities and insights waiting on the other side. A STAGES assessment pinpoints this. It gives you the knowledge, to integrate, consolidate, or expand your development. It shows you where to place your feet as you navigate the edge of your own development. When we feel disoriented or lost, it’s reassuring to know exactly where we are, and that we’re not off the map just yet! Developmental, or ‘Vertical’ development is considered the next frontier for professional growth. It equips leaders with the depth, adaptability, and resilience needed to thrive in today’s complex world. Since becoming accredited in working with the STAGES matrix in 2021, this remains a profound map that guides all my coaching conversations. Seeing leaders in my network commit to this journey gives me hope others will follow—STAGES is for those wanting to press into more. It isn’t just about performance, it is about become truly and compassionately human. It does take courage to play at your edge. On the Practical Inspiration Publishing authors call today with we tried out Alison Jones's method of exploratory writing with the prompt ✨ What has happened this week that I can lean into? ✨ Here is my 6min response I thought everyone experienced sound and ear aches in the same loudly sensitive way but I recently discovered I was wrong, and it’s made me wonder about listening and facilitation. Let me explain. There was a meeting-noise that kept happening, snagging at my attention.  It huffed out of different people and leaked around the room.  A small rush of air through noses, accompanied by a micro eye roll.  Picking up on the emotion of the noise and bringing it to the surface, let the group honestly share frustrations,, a shared empathy grew when they recognised they were all finding things tough. Another session was filled with clapping and whooping.  I’m a fan of the phrase ‘woop woop’ in messages, but I find real life clapping quite overwhelming (and I can’t do it in time!) However, there is no denying that in this room the claps boosted energy.  There was a motivation and buzz that you could hear and almost see rising up from the group.  The softer sensory stuff that weaves around our experiences can shift and change what happens and how everything feels.  These micro sounds, loose expressions and unguarded moments are the glue and colour and flourish that make things memorable and transformative. I wonder if the attention focused on these shifts and creating spaces for them, could we first create the energy we want to feel, then say the words and let the actions follow?

One thing I loved about being on holiday was the opportunity to read lots! For years I only read non-fiction books and got back into fiction books as it’s a way that allows me to fully switch off. I always love it when a fiction book has something that makes me stop and read it again. This ⬇️ was one such quote from ‘The Book of Doors’ (highly recommend!). So often we place happiness in our future, the ‘I’ll be happy when….’ thoughts, and yet we’re never in our future which can place happiness always out of reach. Each day it’s a choice to look for and create happiness in our lives. Yes it’s can feel hard at first and the more you consistently make that choice, the easier and more instinctive it becomes. I wanted to share this and give you a nudge to look for and create happiness in your life today. What’s making you happy today? Anyone who follows me knows that I am passionate about healing being a core dimension to regeneration - after all there is no re-generation without addressing what has fallen out of alignment with the principles of Life, where there is dis-ease and where we are perpetuating our own or other's trauma responses - what Eckhard Tolle named the pain body, what Paul Levy also describes as an attribute of wetiko - it fools us into seeing only in others what is actually within ourselves. Dave Pendle MA and I had a bit of fun with the title for our conversation for 26th November's Phenomenal Conversations session (see booking details in main post)- is it 'Healing at the heart of regeneration' or 'healing the heart of regeneration'? As ever, healing is non-divisible, it doesn't just separate itself into healing over here but not over there. There is an inner and outer dance of healing which is for this community to embrace if it wishes to be a facilitator to healing in the world. So there's a risk that when we do not open up to attending to our wounds, we fail to recognise the gifts that they also bring, unique, precious gifts that will shape our unique contributions to the wider blossoming of Life. When I work with clients, I take them from frantic to centred. I help them cultivate the ability to centre themselves, to calm themselves and get grounded. From the place of frantic, we're normally not as effective as we could be. From the place of centred, we can have a totally different experience of the task in front of us, of the meeting we're in, of the communication that we're making. The three key accelerators to move from frantic to centred are CONNECTION, ACTIVATION and ALIGNMENT. Connection is connecting with the self; connecting and grounding yourself, getting present. The other key is to activate the essential centres in the body that allow for Presence. And this is important, because all of this comes from the inside out. And then the other key is alignment. It's aligning the key parts of your system. When you're ALIGNED, when you ACTIVATE and when you CONNECT, you can move from frantic to centred. You will be more effective.
