  • Whilst on site at Almonry Road retirement apartments, our living team have built a good relationship with neighbouring Abbey Park School. Hear what the Schools Business Manager had to say about our time on site... "It has been a pleasure working with Speller Metcalfe throughout the new build of the apartment block on Abbey Road. The site is situated right next to school, but the site manager has kept the school fully informed about any work which may affect our daily routine throughout the whole project. Speller Metcalfe always considered the school, it pupils and families and made arrangements for more intrusive works to be carried out around the school holidays.   There have been unexpected benefits along the way too, with our Pre-School children all being invited to observe the building site in a pre-planned area with a guide and tiny hard hats and high viz jackets, which made them all feel super important! The youngsters were able to watch the workman and the machinery and found the whole event fascinating.     There was also the wonderful donation to our PTFA towards our school pantomime visit.   We wish to extend our thanks to the Speller Metcalfe team, they have been a pleasure to work with and have consistently considering the daily running of our school." • 🎄 Sharing Joy This Festive Season 🎄 As part of our ongoing partnership with the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve donated over £200 worth of chocolates to the Paediatric Emergency Department (ED)! 🍫 It was heart-warming to see the smiles on the faces of both staff and children as we handed out the chocolates—proof of the power of small gestures in spreading joy. A special thank you to E H Humphries Norton Ltd and Redmill Construction Ltd for their generous contributions, which helped to make this initiative possible. Your support truly made a difference, and we’re glad to have been able to bring a bit of festive cheer to both the NHS staff who work so hard, and the incredible children who they are supporting.

  • The team from Speller Metcalfe, including Jessica Munn and Barrie Jones, were delighted to attend the SEWSCAP 4 framework launch at Cardiff City Stadium last Thursday. 🏆🏐 It was great to meet the wider SEWSCAP team, framework users and fellow contractors and to hear about the framework's approach to ensuring collaboration, best practice and a central focus on social value across the schemes it delivers - all values we proactively work to deliver every day at Speller Metcalfe. 🤝🏗️ Thanks for having us and here's to SEWSCAP 4! #loveconstruction

  • We're delighted to continue in our support and sponsorship of local grassroots sports club, the U15 Ledbury Swifts.⚽ We've worked with the club on many occasions over the years, with a number of our staff either part of the club themselves, or with their own kids joining the ranks! Here's our Small Works Director, Matthew Bailey, handing over the latest bit of kit to the team... fingers crossed for a great 2025 season!

Ho ho ho...the Christmas spirit has well and truly arrived at Speller Metcalfe.🎅 Today our team across offices, sites and their homes donned Christmas jumpers and donated towards Save the Children International, helping the charity keep children around the world healthy and safe. ✨Kudos to Zach Bowater who took it a step further with a snowman suit! It’s fair to say that with just over a week until we close up for Christmas, the offices are full of chocolates, merry tunes and festivities. Roll on next week! 🎄
