This week at SCL Enigmaz, I had the opportunity to take my students to the Science Museum to not only explore the technological advancements of our world but to also visit the recently introduced Power Up Games facility. Located in the museum’s lower level, Power Up showcases over 150+ gaming consoles, spanning from the 1970s to today, highlighting the evolution of gaming technology, design, and development. Each station provided engaging infographics that offered insights into the creators’ visions and the advancements shaping this industry. As someone who grew up during the Nintendo 64 era, it was fascinating to reflect on how far gaming has come, both in terms of technology and cultural impact. This experience allowed my students to engage with games older than themselves and gain a deeper understanding of gaming’s influence beyond entertainment, from casual players to Esports enthusiasts. Four of our SCL Education Group students took to the skies yesterday, embarking on an exciting journey to Prague to compete in the prestigious Phoenix Cup. This event not only showcases their talent and dedication but also provides them with a valuable opportunity to gain international experience on the field. As they represent FC United of Manchester, their hard work and commitment to the sport will surely shine through. The joy of being a Curriculum Manager with SCL Education Group is the incredible variety each day brings! Last night, we were treated to an amazing first-team match with Oldham Athletic ⚽—a fantastic experience that left us buzzing. Today, we swapped the excitement of the pitch for the magic of the stage, watching our talented learners at Jill Clewes rehearse for their Christmas show! 🎄💃 Their singing, dancing, and creativity blew me away. What an incredible night for the learners at ProDirect Manchester/SCL Education Group on Monday, they had the amazing opportunity to showcase their skills in front of United winger Garnacho, who surprised them with a visit to their training session! It was truly inspiring to see the learners showcase thier skills in front of a professional player, and the excitement has been palpable ever since. Huge thanks ProDirect for arranging these lifetime opportunities for our young learners and Garnacho for sharing this unforgettable moment with us! 🙌

Watched a really high tempo and competitive training session. Monday mornings are not all doom and gloom. Arrived at club to a message from a parent. A message to let me know one of my 2nd years had won the 'Young Volunteer of the Year' Award, at the weekend.
