Making Friends Not Millionaires

About us

FC United of Manchester is a semi-professional football club based at Broadhurst Park, Moston, Manchester. The Club competes in the Northern Premier League, the seventh tier of the English football league system. FC United is owned and democratically run by its members. Our corporate structure is a Community Benefit Society and membership is open to all, with everyone an equal co-owner, holding one voting share in the Club. We are the largest fan-owned football club in the United Kingdom. FC United was founded in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to American businessman Malcolm Glazer's takeover of Manchester United. After entering the North West Counties Football League Division Two (10th tier) in our inaugural season, we achieved three consecutive promotions in the first three years of our existence and were promoted for a fourth time to compete in the National League North for the 2015/16 season. In May 2015 we opened our own ground, Broadhurst Park in Moston. In the 2015/16 season we were the fourth best supported clubs in non-league football. FC United puts supporters at the heart of everything. We aim to create a sustainable, successful, fan-owned, democratic football club that creates real and lasting benefits to its members and local communities. Seven core principles of how the club operates are: - The Board will be democratically elected by its members. - Decisions taken by the membership will be decided on a one member, one vote basis. - The Club will develop strong links with the local community and strive to be accessible to all, discriminating against none. - The Club will endeavour to make admission prices as affordable as possible, to as wide a constituency as possible. - The Club will encourage young, local participation - playing and supporting - whenever possible. - The Board will strive wherever possible to avoid outright commercialism. - The Club will remain a non-profit organisation.

A thank you and some insights on partnerships..... Inspired by Richard Hall with his recent 'Thank You Thursdays', I wanted to put out a big thank you and highlight the great work this year by Paul Haworth. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with Paul on the Clothes2Order x FC United of Manchester partnership launched in September. It's the first major sponsorship we've done, and Paul's tireless work in making it a success has been outstanding. We've got more exciting details to come in the new year, but in just a few months we've worked together to upgrade the workwear of the groundstaff and hospitality teams, launch a new ball crew uniform and yesterday the launch of a brand new range of on demand fan merchandise #FCUM. This new range looks incredible thanks to Paul, Danny Davis and the team at FC, alongside Dan Brown and Lauren Siddall on the C2O side for making it happen. Link in the comments to see what has been created. This has shown me what a partnership can be. It's far more than putting your logo on something (although that's something we're very good at of course 😂). We've loved the opportunity to get involved at the club, support on community initiatives and work together where we can to supply workwear and merchandise to uplift the look and feel of all the off pitch teams. If you're a marketer looking for sponsorship opportunities next year here are my key takeaways: Make sure your values align. People matter. Will you enjoy working together? Partnership does not just equal advertising exposure. How can you work with each other deeply? Thank you again Paul, Merry Christmas, and here's to good festive period on and off the pitch for all at FCUM.

HMG Paints is pleased to partner with FC United of Manchester in supporting their Big Coat Day initiative. Our team recently delivered a collection of winter wear donated by our staff to Broadhurst Park. This initiative supports the Manchester Heart and Mental Health Charity, providing warmth to others during the colder months of the year. We value our partnerships, as the help to that strengthen our community and encourage others to showcase their support this December.

‼️🔴⚫Please support Emily Walton on her road to recovery🔴⚫‼️ ACL Injuries in Women's football is a crisis & unfortunately our player Emily has suffered a grade 3 ACL injury & an injury to the medial meniscus that requires reconstruction surgery. As we all know, ACL injuries are incredibly challenging and can take time and resources to recover from with female players 8 times more likely to suffer an ACL injury than male players, this injury is depriving some of the best talents in the women's game from doing the thing they love most... playing football! Now, Emily is calling on us...her community, her fans, and those who believe in & support women's sports to help her get back on her feet. The cost of surgery, rehabilitation, and recovery is significant, and she's launched a fundraiser to help cover these expenses. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. Emily has always been a fighter on the pitch, and we know she’ll bring that same determination to her recovery. Let’s show her how strong the support is from her fans, teammates, and everyone who believes in women’s football. Please if you can, donate & share as much as possible to help Emily overcome this challenge! Thank you.
