About us
The Responsible Technology Adoption Unit (RTA) leads the UK Government’s work to enable trustworthy innovation using data and artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. The RTA helps organisations across the public and private sectors to innovate through programmes and projects that develop tools, guidance and standards to give organisations confidence that AI and data-driven tech work the way they expect. And help them use AI and data in a way that builds public trust. Our work is underpinned by our innovative public attitudes research and our engagement with a range of industry, academic and legal experts.

Today we’re launching the new PETs Cost-Benefit Awareness Tool! Developed with Information Commissioner's Office, it will help organisations in the public and private sectors assess the value of privacy enhancing technologies, using a clear framework and real-world use cases. Why PETs? Many organisations find it challenging to quantify the benefits of Privacy Enhancing tech. Our new tool provides a detailed framework, example use cases, and a checklist to make building a business case for PETs straightforward and practical: https://lnkd.in/eQzC347F
