Valpak Limited and Reverse Logistics Group (RLG) have achieved Platinum rankings, placing them in the top 1% in their sectors! 🏆 Over the past six years, not one, not two but seven Reconomy brands have earned EcoVadis accolades, ranging from Silver to Platinum. This milestone underscores our commitment to embedding sustainability at the heart of everything we do and reaffirms our leadership in the circular economy. I posted recently that Wales had pulled out of the process to create a UK-wide #DespositReturnScheme. It appears that the Welsh Government did not request an exclusion to the Internal Markets Act, as the UK Government indicated it would not be able to consider such a request “within the time necessary” for Wales to join the joint process of appointing a Deposit Management Organisation (DMO) for the four nations’ schemes." Whilst England & Northern Ireland remain steadfast in their commitment for a cans & plastics bottles DRS, it is good to see The Scottish Government publish their position that "We are committed to realising the economic and environmental benefits a DRS can bring and have therefore agreed to move forward with a DRS in Scotland that does not include glass on day one." There's loads of good arguments for and against adding or excluding #glass from a #DRS. Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)'s Simpler Recycling Legislation is going live at the end of March 2025! Our Head of External Affairs, Dave Gudgeon (MCIWM, CRWM), has outlined to ResourceCo the current limits and future opportunities for businesses to prepare and push UK recycling towards a circular system ahead of Simpler Recycling officially going live. Simpler Recycling is designed to eliminate confusion, increase recycling rates and improve circularity by creating a consistent approach nationwide to simplify and standardise collection and sorting. Only four days to go until we can reveal what we have been counting down to! 👀 Over the last couple of days, we have shined a light on the connection we've built with suppliers and customers, but this one's for the people that make it all possible...our fantastic colleagues! Whether they joined the Reconomy family this year or have been around for a big part of our 30-year history, they all make what we do possible 👏 We love getting the chance to connect with colleagues at our annual summer parties and We Are Reconomy Conference and Awards night! Alongside getting to connect with our colleagues, we love to celebrate individual achievements and team success🏆 We are already looking forward to more opportunities to connect with our colleagues next year! 🎉

Not long to go until our exciting announcement on Monday! 🤩 We're continuing the countdown by reflecting on the incredible year we have had, celebrating 30 years at Reconomy. Customers are at the very heart of what we do, and we are so pleased that in 2024 we have had the opportunity to build even stronger connections with them. In addition to connecting with our customers at industry events such as UK Construction Week & RWM, we also got the opportunity to engage through online webinars. As well as at our customers own events and at their sites up and down the UK, offering support and guidance. 2025 is an exciting year for us, and we are proud that we will continually put our customers at the heart of everything.
