DIACC has published its written submission for the 2025 Canadian pre-budget consultations, which includes recommendations on digital identity verification and authentication. DIACC is advocating for: 1) Collaborative public-private partnerships and innovation via research and development to build digital trust in citizen services such as healthcare, banking, and government services 2) Building on the existing regulatory framework and developing new regulations to facilitate secure digital transactions, including compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations, and 3) Advanced authentication methods which can “ensure individuals and organizations are who they claim to be,” in order to “prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information and critical infrastructure, minimize financial scams and misuse of personal data.” #digitalID #digitaltrust #trustframeworks Joni Brennan https://lnkd.in/dsPnFcEY

The world is at the dawn of a new technological revolution. Emerging technologies, like AI can transform public services, creating a smaller, lower-cost state that delivers better outcomes for citizens. Creating a digital identity system is a key part of this and will improve the way citizens interact with government, save time, ease access and create more personalised services. Hear more from Andrew Bud, CEO at iProov, Christine Leong, CIO at nChain, Nick Mothershaw, Chief Strategist at OIX - Open Identity Exchange Exchange, Sarah Munro, Executive Director at JPMorganChase & Co, and Moses Baiden at Margins Group on the power of digital ID to reimagine Britain for the future: https://bit.ly/3WzKaje #technology #advancement #growth #innovation #Britain

OIX calls on new UK government to accelerate digital ID rollout “Digital ID can unlock significant value for individuals, businesses and the UK economy,” says OIX Identity Development Director Gareth Narinesingh. “Over time, it will become the core component of a critical global digital infrastructure. If the UK wants to enhance its global influence, attract international partnerships and foster trade relations, it needs a clear, long-term plan for digital ID. While the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) is a solid start, it needs to evolve, and quickly.” – Biometric Update #digitalID #trustframeworks #digitalinfrastructure https://loom.ly/mKpXge8

In a letter to the Secretary of State yesterday, OIX has outlined three key areas that must be accelerated in order for the UK to achieve a leading position on digital trust: 1. Evolve the DIATF to include a digital wallet strategy for the UK given rapid and emerging worldwide use; 2. Provide a clear position on how digital ID will work across the public and private sectors such that government should not compete with the private sector; 3. Lead on cross-border interoperability to demonstrate to the world that the UK is at the forefront of technological advancement. Gareth Narinesingh, Identity Development Director at OIX, said: “Digital ID can unlock significant value for individuals, businesses and the UK economy.
