About us

Without water, life can't flow smoothly. Ofwat is the economic regulator of the water sector, and we’re working to improve life through water: keeping water flowing, bills affordable and helping to ensure the health of our rivers and waterways. We're here to ensure water companies do the right thing: supporting customers and communities, improving the environment, and making sure our water supplies are secure for future generations. Our work involves overseeing water company performance, driving water companies to meet long term challenges through increased collaboration and partnership, and pushing water companies to deliver more for customers, society and the environment.

We have a unique opportunity for a Head of Campaigns, to join our Communications Team. This is an exciting new role which will help to develop and oversee the delivery of national behaviour change campaigns, such as the Water Efficiency Fund Campaign - focused on promoting water efficiency and sustainability. By 2050 England and Wales will need more than 4 billion extra litres of water available per year - that's equivalent to needing an extra 25% of the water currently supplied. At least half of this extra water is expected to come from promoting water efficiency and reducing leakage. We intend to create a £100 million fund to help stimulate a transformative, sustained, and measurable reduction in water demand in England and Wales by using a range of water efficiency approaches, and you will play a key role in helping us deliver it. This week, nearly 600 delegates came together for the #VulnerabilitySummit2024, jointly hosted by Ofwat and Ofgem, to tackle the critical issue of customer vulnerability in the utilities sector. Leaders from utilities, consumer groups, financial services and more shared powerful insights on how we can better support those in need, especially amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. As the Senior Director for Casework, Enforcement and Customers at Ofwat, Lynn Parker, highlighted, "One size doesn't fit all...vulnerable customers need utility providers to step up and provide the help they, as individuals, need when they need it." Read our blog to find out more and discover the key takeaways from the summit https://lnkd.in/ezf_brkx
