  • Yesterday, MilUX joined the final meet-and-greet of the year at the BattleLab - a fantastic opportunity to connect with the growing defence innovation community and foster SME collaboration. We’re proud to see how our Discovery work for the BattleLab has contributed to their ongoing success. It was particularly rewarding to catch up with Dorset Council UK and hear how ideas from that Discovery are now transforming into actionable improvement initiatives. For this Discovery, we utilised the Kanban University Fit For Purpose Framework, enabling the team to uncover what truly matters to their users and drive impactful outcomes. 👉 If you’re curious about this Discovery or want to explore how our product and user-centred design services can help you reduce risk, accelerate development, and deliver optimised solutions for MOD end-users, drop us a message 💡 Together, we can develop mission-critical solutions at the speed of relevance. #Innovation #Defence #UserCenteredDesign #MOD #F4P #UCD #collaboration #SME #Community #Defence #Battlelab

Last Meet and Greet of the year for the BattleLab at the Dorset Innovation Park. A simple little Coffee Morning that continues to add value to the activities within, connecting the UK Ministry of Defence with Industry and Academia. Without people, a building is just a building; it's the people that make the facility special and such a great space for collaboration. Collaboration is all about people's ability to connect, look out for opportunities that may not directly benefit themselves, and selflessly dedicate time and effort to assist others. It is fantastic to see people genuinely happy to help each other reach out to those who can help them develop their technology or business so that they can then provide value to Defence. Thank you to everyone who came, introduced themselves and provided the incredible food and refreshments. The next one is on the 9th of January; register on the Website, book a hot desk and bring your ideas, knowledge and, of course, yourself. It was great to have representation from the British Army, Royal Navy Maritime Enterprise, Dorset Council UK, Dorset LEP, Innovate UK and the Defence and Security Accelerator. Special thanks to Didde Bjerglund-Martin for giving a short presentation of Helios to help SMEs develop their understanding of the Defence Environment and the tools available to assist them provide value to Defence supply chain. #BattleLab #Defence #Security #MinistryOfDefence #DASA #RoyalNavy #BritishArmy #SMEs #Innovation #Technology #DorsetInnovationPark #DorsetCouncil #Networking #Collaboration

We help you bring your ideas to life quickly and efficiently, using collaborative workshops and cost-effective rapid prototyping techniques to explore, refine, and validate concepts with your military personnel. This user-centred approach ensures that your solutions are not only innovative but also practical, usable, and aligned with the needs of your end-users. Gain valuable feedback early on, get buy-in, avoid costly design changes later, and get your solutions to the field faster, maintaining a competitive advantage. Capability Assessment We help you to measure the impact of existing military systems, processes, services and products.  We help you go beyond simple assessments to provide an in-depth analysis of your existing military systems, processes, training programmes, and equipment. You will gain clear, evidence-based insights to pinpoint areas for improvement, enhance operational efficiency, and validate the effectiveness of your solutions.

Last Thursday, MilUX joined 12 other employers from Wiltshire to receive the Silver Award from the Employer Recognition Scheme. Our CEO Matt Odell and Principal Consultant Isabella Marriott, both serving Reservists, attended the presentation and received the award from Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire. Thank you to the team from Wessex RFCA for hosting a great event, and congratulations to all the Reservists, Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers and Cadets who received various other honours and awards at the event. The Silver Award recognises those employers who actively demonstrate support made in their Armed Forces Covenant, and employ at least one member of the Armed Forces Community, be that a Reservist, Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer, Service Leaver or military spouse.

In April, MilUX introduced an option for our team to take Volunteer Time Off (VTO). It was great reading Darryl’s LinkedIn post this morning. It reminded us why VTO is worthwhile for our team and their local communities. #SocialImpact #socialgood #volunteer #CSR

Last week I had the opportunity to take a day off as volunteer work. I found a local community ptoject called The Boaz project, which is a farming project that gives work to special needs adults. This was an awesome day that I got to spend with my daughter and help out with any work that needed doing on the farm. Thanks to MilUX for giving me the day to volunteer and to THE BOAZ TRUST HAMPSHIRE LIMITED for having me.
