More than 50% of teen girls avoid visiting the doctor due to embarrassment, shame, or fear of the outcome. This NEEDS to change. How? With the gift of luna. This Christmas, parents, aunties, uncles, brothers, anyone can gift someone around them something that truly matters - access to health information!   We know teens may not feel shy about asking for the latest: 💄 Makeup 🧴 Skincare 👩🏼🦱 Hair tools And they shouldn't when it comes to health and wellbeing info either. This Christmas why not gift something that truly matters? luna is an investment that they’ll LOVE and benefit from in the long term. So for anyone looking for Gen-Z/Alpha gifting inspo, consider the gift of luna: https://lnkd.in/eWvWG5gn Ps I'm proud to lead a business that genuinely helps teen girls (and their parents), plus has fun at the same time too Ps ps, we won Startup of the Year this time but going for an Oscar next time! 👉Follow Jas for more on Entrepreneurship as I build luna, the go to health & wellbeing app for teens

Health and Wellbeing for Teen Girls: Exploring Innovative Startups 🚀 This week, we've curated a roundup of innovative startups dedicated to supporting teen girls and improving their health. Digital platforms are playing an essential role in tackling the unique challenges young girls face today, reflecting the changing preferences and perspectives of the new generation. A recent scoping review, "Adolescents' and Young Adults' Perspectives on Digital Health Promotion," was published in BMC Digital Health by Agata Ferretti, Shannon Hubbs, and Effy Vayena. The study, published in 2023, analyzed 50 publications, mostly from high-income countries, with limited data from low- and middle-income regions. It found that young users prefer intuitive and engaging interfaces with features like gamification and personalization. While privacy concerns were noted, particularly around sensitive health topics, data security and information reliability were less of a worry. The review emphasizes the importance of creating user-friendly, personalized, and ethically sound digital health tools to engage young people in managing their health. In our latest Femtech Real Money Talks podcast episode, we spoke with Jas Schembri-Stothart, co-founder of luna, who shared valuable insights on the challenges of addressing teen health needs and how they built a platform that connects with this generation. Tune in to hear about Luna's growth strategies, their fundraising journey, and how they’re making health information more accessible to young girls worldwide. Does the Government value the voices of teens in the debate about online safety? I would certainly hope so. Last week I wrote to Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Innovation and Technology. On 20 November he announced that there would be updates to the Online Safety Act over the coming months. Including a study focused on the effects of smartphone and social media use on young people. As I wrote to the Secretary of State, luna is here to help. It's absolutely CRUCIAL that teens themselves are heard from in this debate. And luna is uniquely placed to help with: 👉 100,000 members aged between 11-18 👉 A team of highly engaged squad of ambassadors 👉 An evidence base from which to consider the question of the impacts of phones & social media on young people Soon luna will publish the results of our second Wellbeing Challenge. Which 1000s of teens across the UK have taken part in over the month of November. Our first Challenge in February this year showed that teens feeling positive about their mental health saw: 👉 48% increase over their month using luna 👉 68% increase in positive body image This illustrates both the risks of social media, but also the huge opportunities for young people of using smartphones for clear, positive goals. Peter Kyle and Baroness Jones - our door is open, let's help make sure teens have a voice in this debate!

Spending is power. You have power. Women control 85% of the household spending (Forbes). You can shift the power play today, for Black Friday. As we're scrolling nervously through our favourite conglomerate-backed websites, Stop and think: You have power. Real power. You want a world where you have - where your daughter has the opportunity to work hard on an idea, and be funded? Give the power to your future investors. Buy women's created products. ✨ That B2B SaaS insurance: buy it from Sarah Wernér. ✨ That advanced skin product: get it from Lauren Murrell, not from high street shops. ✨ That lube? Get it from HANX created by Farah Kabir to slide through life. There's an analogy that blows my mind to understand the impact we all have. See the amount of people on the planet? That's 2 people, a couple, who made each one of us. So yes, the small choice you make today, has a huge impact on humanity. 🦋 And compounded, it's a butterfly effect. Buy their products. Invest in their businesses small amounts through crowdfunding!! Invest directly if you have deeper pockets. I'm preparing a list of the most incredible businesses and products to get for Xmas. Who should I add to distribute to my audience of 130k across socials? Tag your favourite founders and products 👇 Follow me Helene Guillaume Pabis for your daily dose of inspiration, and ♻️ share to have the maximum reach!
