Please read the below announcement by the PA Union UMAPS. #PhysicianAssociate news https://lnkd.in/eTwbr5w4
We are calling for an emergency meeting with all interested MAPs to discuss recent developments that impact us all. Given the recent challenges, as well as our announcement of potential legal action against the RCGP, we believe it’s essential to communicate openly and provide clear updates. As mentioned in our previous letters, the decision to explore legal action was made after careful consideration. We have seen an alarming rise in employment disputes following the potentially reckless guidance issued by the RCGP, and previously the BMA; and it is also clear that certain organisations and those with vested interests have been working to undermine and attack our role in protecting and advocating for the MAPs profession. Many of you have expressed confusion about how to protect your employment rights in this challenging environment. We have therefore scheduled a meeting to provide clarity on the events that have led us here, as well as clear guidance on the steps you can take to safeguard your rights and navigate these disputes. Join us for an Emergency Q&A session on Sunday, 3rd November, at 7pm on Teams. This Q&A is open to ALL Medical Associate Professionals. We understand this is short notice, but we urge you to attend to make your voices heard. Please take note of the following details to ensure a smooth experience: Registration Form To register, please fill out this form: https://lnkd.in/eG7sfSYi Important Reminder To facilitate entry, please ensure your displayed name in Teams matches the name provided in your registration form. We will be cross-checking names against our list, and attendees we cannot verify will not be able to participate in the Q&A. Agenda - Introduction to the UMAP’s Acting NEC and the CMAP’s Interim Board - Presentation on key updates - Q&A Session for pre-submitted questions, followed by live questions if time permits To read more about our legal action and to contribute to the legal fund for MAPs: https://lnkd.in/e3JrNCXJ Sincerely, PA Stephen Nash, Acting General Secretary PA Amanda King, Acting Deputy General Secretary PA Emma Lomas, Acting President Primary Care Network PA Daniel Hopkins, Acting Deputy President Primary Care Network PA Berkay Ulker, Acting President Secondary Care Network PA Emma Jenkinson, Acting Deputy President Secondary Care Network AA Gemma Halewood-Muse, Acting President AA Network AA Paul Pharoah, Acting Deputy President AA Network PA James Willis, Acting President Education Network PA Joshua Russell, Acting Deputy President Education Network PA Alice Fitzpatrick, Interim Officer CMAPs PA Pauline Weir, Interim Officer CMAPs PA Jack Hill, Interim Officer CMAPs PA Mobashar Rashid, Interim Officer CMAPs #PhysicianAssociate #AnaesthesiaAssociate #MAPs #UMAPs #CMAPs #MedicalAssociateProfessionals #MAPStudent #PAstudent #AAstudent
