I left "home" 9 years ago, and the cocktail culture was not integrated into our daily life or culture. Yet. Surprisingly, during the last Trieste Cocktail Week, I saw a more cosmopolitan scene, keen to embrace something new, coming from far away but adjusting to local consumers and habits. As a first time in Lecce, I couldn't imagine how far we have gone and how much influence has been absorbed by all the people who decided to come back home after years spent abroad, working and crafting this art, able to bring us together doesn't matter where which language we talk, where we are, or to better saying, who we are. 🥇 We are delighted to announce that Sahara won a Gold medal at the 2024 Mediterranean Taste Awards in London. This eighth edition of the competition awards excellent taste from various food and beverage products. The Gold medal is awarded to products scoring between 90 and 94.9 points during a blind tasting, where Sahara was tasted unbranded. 🍸 This year's judging panel includes food and beverage figures from prominent London venues, such as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group , Gordon Ramsay Restaurants and The Connaught. Furthermore, the panel is also complemented by food scientists with post-doctorate and food science degrees.

𝙽𝙰𝚁𝙰 When talking about sake, or, better yet, Nihonshu, there are not many drinks out there that can respect and complete this delicate and traditional liquid. Developing Nara was a beautiful journey. We tried to balance the mineral body with the fruity heart and the long and bitter finish, constantly playing with the final ABV of this cocktail, considering we decided to batch it and serve it as a Japanese aperitif. 𝚆𝙾𝙻𝙵'𝚂 𝙵𝙾𝚇𝙶𝙻𝙾𝚅𝙴 Aromatic, rich, fresh. A "double" Whisky Collins with length & body, where the Palo Santo does the magic. After trying to highlight the balsamic aromas of the wood in different ways, we came up with a quick resting in the bottle after being pre-batched. It was the easiest way to preserve all the other tastes while keeping a perfect balance. The acidity of the pickled rhubarb is additional for the drink; adding the sourness is not necessary but is able to improve the experience, with these bread/biscuity notes coming from the pandan and burnt chamomile to close the circle. Five years ago, this drink was a blast, selling up to 30/40 per day.
