National Grid ESO has announced a network design for connecting up to 4.5GW of floating offshore wind energy capacity in the Celtic Sea. Onshore and offshore wind produced their highest annual percentages of electricity ever, while offshore wind and solar set new records. Renewables provided 46.4% of the UK's electricity in 2022, a record low from 36.7% from fossil fuels.
