If you have an Employee Assistance Programme, explore any additional resources they offer which you could promote. Today is Stress Awareness Day, a reminder of the importance to promote ongoing conversations about how we can better manage stress. While some stress can motivate individuals to better perform under pressure, too much over an extended period can be detrimental to both physical and mental wellness. As health and wellbeing experts, we wanted to share just some of the ways you can create a workplace environment which supports stress management and improve productivity and even job satisfaction. ✔️ Offer regular check-ins – this could be a way for employees to voice any concerns regarding work related stress and work with their line manager or employer to limit or mitigate it ✔️ Encourage breaks – even a short pause, a small walk away from the desk, can help relive stress and offer a different perspective on stressful situations ✔️ Promote additional resources – if you have an EAP, it can be very beneficial for your employees to know there is help outside of work, along with reminding them of any MHFAs you may have What do you do to help yourself and others reduce stress? Make sure to let us know in the comments👇

This week, the Money and Pensions Service seeks to inspire each of us to commit to healthier financial wellbeing by doing one thing to benefit our finances, whether it’s creating a budget, setting a financial savings goal, or simply looking at our current spending habits. As an employer, embracing this initiative can provide a way to support your workforce by not only sparking conversations around money, but encouraging your employees to make a commitment and build healthier financial habits one small bite sized decision at a time. By actively participating and doing one thing to improve your financial choices, you can set a powerful example for your employees and create a more open, supportive environment around financial wellbeing. What’s one thing you’re choosing to do this week to support your financial wellness?

From 4-8 November, the Money and Pensions Service's annual campaign #TalkMoneyWeek is a nationwide effort to get the public talking about their finances and financial wellbeing. We all know money matters can cause a great deal of stress, which in turn can affect all aspects of our health. By creating a supportive environment around financial discussions, it can not only help reduce employee stress levels, but also empower them to take control of their money. So, why should employers get involved? This week offers a fantastic opportunity to introduce tools and conversations that strengthen financial wellbeing across your workforce, and we can help! Make sure to download our FREE resource The Employer's Guide to Financial Wellbeing! An in-depth guide which provides a whole host of information including an overview of the key concepts of financial wellbeing, how to integrate financial wellbeing into your wellbeing strategy, and why financial education is so important in today's world.
