🚢Future Talent Inspired at Maritime and Transport Careers Day✈️ More than 200 students took the opportunity to connect with leading industry professionals, showcasing diverse career paths at a careers event dedicated to the maritime and transport sectors. 🚚🚢🚉🌟 The inaugural event, organized by the Maritime and Transport Careers Programme (MTCP) and business partners, was held at Associated British Ports' Ocean Terminal in Southampton. It gave students and teachers the chance to meet with MTCP members, including Associated British Ports, DP World, Carnival UK (P&O Cruises & Cunard), Red Funnel, Meachers Global Logistics, Southampton International Airport Limited and Tesla. 🤝 To engage the young attendees and spark their interest in the wide variety of exciting career pathways, ABP showcased its cutting-edge VR headsets, providing a fully immersive experience. ✨ South Hampshire College Group also demonstrated its Tech:Truck, featuring augmented reality systems, marine and flight simulation technologies, fully programmable robotic arms, drones, and 3D printers. 🚀🤖 Katie Bruce, who was Engagement Officer for the Maritime & Transport Careers Programme and is now an Enterprise Coordinator with the Hampshire Careers Hub, described the event as an inspiring day. 🌟 Katie said: “This was the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on the huge variety of jobs on offer right on their doorstep and help attract fresh talent needed to future-proof Solent’s impressive maritime and transport industries.” ✨ #FutureTalent #Maritime #Transport #Inspiration #CareerOpportunities #MTCP #CareersDay Megan Low, Christine Hansford, Lisa Fox, Katie B.
