A big congratulations to our Solicitor Apprentice Jaime Wright on passing his Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE)! The SQE combines tests in functional legal knowledge and practical legal skills. It’s a rigorous assessment which aspiring solicitors must pass before being admitted to the roll of solicitors. Jaime joined us as our first Solicitor Apprentice and has been studying through an apprenticeship while gaining vital on-the-job training. Jaime received support and mentoring throughout his apprenticeship by our legal team and we’re proud to see his hard work and dedication pay off.

We’re celebrating Guildford’s position as the UK’s gaming powerhouse. Tom Hunt, Deputy Leader of the council was joined by Pedro Wrobel, Joint Chief Executive for Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils and Ezra Wallace, Strategic Director for Economy, Planning and Place at the ‘Networking n Nostalgia’ event at the University of Surrey yesterday. This event – organised as part of the University’s Games and Innovation Nexus programme - was all about connecting with the local games industry to find new ways to work together and continue to support our borough’s innovative work in this sector. The University’s Games Innovation Zone opened earlier this year. This was the perfect opportunity to check it out, play some classic games and make new connections with partners!
