Dr. George Asimopoulos earned a Chemistry degree from the University of Ioannina and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Virginia Tech, developing algorithms for 3D spectroscopic data. He created an automated knowledge extraction tool for Intel and received multiple awards. In the USA, as Application Scientist and Product Manager at LT Industries, he innovated in Near Infrared technology and process analyzers. Last month, I had the immense pleasure of participating in one of the panels of the #RecreatingInnovation Summit, alongside the amazing Foteini Salmouka with whom we talked about the role of big institutions in shaping the future, moderated by Dimitris Dimosiaris. Having the opportunity to connect with so many experts from different fields who all have innovation, though, as their guiding light was truly inspiring and I am very grateful to have been part of this, by accepting Founderhood's invitation. With over a decade of experience, Amalia specializes in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, and Project Management, focusing on corporate social responsibility and leveraging business strategies for social and environmental impact. She has worked in both local organizations and multinational companies like trivago and Google. Since joining INCO in 2021, she has led global programs and now serves as Vice President of International Programs. She also co-founded Astylab, aiming to improve urban life. Amalia holds a Bachelor's in Marketing & Communication and a Master's in Environmental, Disaster, and Crisis Management Strategies. She has extensive experience in program management and strategic leadership, having served as Programme Director and Programme Manager at NHS Innovation Accelerator between 2019 and 2024. Prior to this, she held roles in office and executive management at UCLPartners and King's College London. She holds a Qualifying Law Degree (LLM) from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Project Management Qualification from UCL. We're delighted to share that Foteini Salmouka, Project Manager at ahedd Digital Innovation Hub and Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub, represented us at the Recreating Innovation Summit organized by the Founderhood team around Thanos Paraschos, Dimitris Dimosiaris, and Giannis Tambakis. The event took place from October 24-26, 2024, in Chania.
