A great achievement for our Trust to be shortlisted alongside some excellent providers across the Greater Birmingham area.
I’m incredibly proud to share that Forward Education Trust has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Training & Education award at the @Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce #GBCCAwards25. This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, passion, and commitment of our entire team. At the heart of everything we do is a belief in the potential of every young person and the importance of creating opportunities for growth—not just for them, but for our staff too. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who makes our work possible, from the dedicated staff across our Trust to the partners and communities who support us. Being part of such an inspiring group of finalists is already a win in itself. I’m looking forward to attending the awards at the ICC Birmingham on 27th February—fingers crossed, but no matter the outcome, I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together.

As CEO of Forward Education Trust, I constantly reflect on how to bring out the best in our people. Leadership is a journey of learning—sometimes we get it right, sometimes we learn from our mistakes. Recently, I explored the power of asking the right questions to better support and retain our top talent. It’s about listening openly, addressing obstacles, fostering growth, and creating space for honest dialogue. Great leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about being better every day. I'm excited to share my latest blog, "Being the CEO," where I reflect on nearly three years leading Forward Education Trust. The journey has been a continuous learning experience, shaped by collaboration with co-leaders, Trustees, and a broad network of peers. As CEO, I'm committed to building a diverse, inclusive organisation that drives impactful education for our children. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to leading a multi-academy trust, but together, we're crafting our own path towards excellence. New Blog: Understanding EHCPs EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) are essential for supporting children with special educational needs, but they’re often misunderstood. In my latest blog, I break down the key sections of an EHCP and explain how they provide critical guidance for schools to support children effectively. At Forward Education Trust, all of our students have an EHCP, and we’re committed to ensuring each child’s voice is heard and their needs are met.
