I'm excited to share my latest blog, "Being the CEO," where I reflect on nearly three years leading Forward Education Trust. The journey has been a continuous learning experience, shaped by collaboration with co-leaders, Trustees, and a broad network of peers. As CEO, I'm committed to building a diverse, inclusive organisation that drives impactful education for our children. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to leading a multi-academy trust, but together, we're crafting our own path towards excellence. Ever tried to brave a moderately disinterested class of 25 adolescents? Me neither, but they have. Teachers. The backbone of our future generations and an overlooked; arguably under-appreciated, thread that binds society. A wonderful group of people, and a privilege once more to co-contribute to the leadership in our state schooling system. If you can find a way to sow your work into the work of our educators, do so. We need it. #leadership #management #personaldevelopment #business

"Empowering Young Minds: The Joy of Leadership and Learning" Education is not just about teaching subjects; it's about nurturing potential, fostering creativity, and inspiring confidence in young minds. As a Science educator and Head of Year, I am privileged to witness the growth of students as they overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements. Recently, I've been reflecting on how education leadership extends beyond the classroom. It involves creating environments where students feel seen, heard, and empowered to excel academically and as individuals ready to take on the world. To my fellow educators and leaders: What strategies have worked for you in inspiring students or teams to reach their fullest potential? Let’s exchange ideas and keep the ripple effect of education alive! 👍 #Leadership #EducationMatters #Inspiration #TeachingWithPassion

Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Steve says education is not just the job of teachers. It’s a community effort, and every adult in a school plays a crucial role in shaping our future leaders. Here are some key takeaways: 1️⃣ Every Role Matters: Whether you’re a custodian, cafeteria worker, or principal, your actions and words impact students. They watch and learn from everyone around them. 2️⃣ Beyond Content: It’s not just about teaching facts; it's about applying knowledge to help students navigate life. 3️⃣ Create a Culture of Learning: A unified vision among all staff fosters an environment where students can thrive. Let’s remember that we all carry the responsibility to influence and educate the next generation. #Education #Leadership #CommunityImpact #LifelongLearning #MeetTheExperts #RVASmallBusinessNetwork

As school leaders, our concentration is always on improvement journeys. Every school leader conversation that I have usually has some form of question like, 'What works? What can we do about this? How does it work in other schools?'. #SMARTcurriculum school improvement specialists have blended years of school leadership experience with detailed academic research to develop a purpose-driven curriculum-focused improvement methodology; our school improvement model makes you reflect on your practice and ambitions and has multiple start points respecting your journey to this point. However, it encourages you to consider the three dimensions of school improvement: leadership, teaching, and systems. Our team, led by Andrew Fell, and I work with schools on the quality of systems, teaching and leadership. The model is informed by the work of leading educationalists and other senior figures in the academic world and allows schools to 'enter' at any point and at any stage of the improvement journey by using a diagnostic tool with a range of indicators and measures. These metrics can be used as an evidence base for school improvement or a starting point for engagement with #SMARTcurriculum coaching and school support. There are many forms of reflective questionnaires, many available for school leaders. If you complete a self-evaluation, how likely are you to pursue an improvement journey based on what it tells you? #education #educationreform #educationpolicy #edtech #headteacher #principal #schoolleadership
