About us

We're not for everyone. And that's OK. We're here for brands and organisations who want to do things differently. To challenge the status quo. To change for the better. We blend creative strategy, design and art direction to help brands and organisations tell stories in exciting, unexpected ways; helping them thrive in the modern world. Whether it's creating visual identities, producing multi-channel ad campaigns, or redesigning retail environments — we believe in creating emotive, unconventional work, that challenges us and our clients.

  • Branding Nostalgia 🎄 “12 Days of EDNA” looks at the holidays through the lens of nostalgia & creativity.    Today, EDNA’s Head Of Creative, Matt Davis, shares his thoughts on “Branding Nostalgia”.    Let us know in the comments what brand moments have earned a place in your holiday rituals 😉 #12DaysofEDNA #BrandNostalgia #ChristmasNostalgia

Branding Nostalgia Over on Instagram, 12 Days Of EDNA looks at the holidays through the lenses of nostalgia and creativity. When it comes to the holidays, it’s not just the sensory overload of twinkling lights and office fuddles that send us giddy. It’s the memories. The stories. That comfortable space we create and protect in our memory banks. When brands create campaigns that successfully tap into this world, they can become something more significant than the sum of the parts. As consumers, we'll happily allow brands to pull up an emergency chair at the festive table of our minds. If the idea is compelling enough. When this happens, brands can become inextricably linked to our unique personal experience of the holidays. A newly-fashioned part of the “Good Old Days”. Since first airing in 1995, Coke’s “Holidays Are Coming” has signified the start of the festive season for many. The backlash received when it was recreated using AI earlier this year illustrates the strength of feeling that can be attached to these moments. The problem was that this campaign had become a ritual for people. And you mess with rituals at your peril. This idea of creative campaigns becoming rituals was inspired by Brian Collins. He recently talked about the classic Hershey’s Kisses ad—which has remained (relatively) unchanged since 1989: “With every passing holiday season, it generates deep nostalgia and anticipation for what’s next. It has become ritual.” Personally, I enjoyed Irn-Bru's brilliant hijacking of the 1982 animated classic (and holiday ritual for many), The Snowman. Created by The Leith Agency, with illustrator/animator Robin Shaw, it’s won numerous awards and has added a new facet to an existing ritual. What brand moments have earned a place in your holiday rituals? Do your thing in the comments ;)

  • 🎄✨ This holiday season at EDNA, we're taking a trip down memory lane and looking at the creative power of nostalgia. Keep an eye on our Insta feed (ednadotstudio) to see what we’ve created for our “12 Days of EDNA” passion project. Over the next 12 (working) days, we’ll relive nostalgic holiday moments of all shapes and sizes (green triangle, anyone?). And share the EDNA team's fondest memories of Christmases past. 🎁 See you there. Cheers! https://lnkd.in/emp5zF-c

  • We were delighted to hear that our client, Leeds Hospitals Charity , won "Best Not-For-Profit Campaign" at the 2024 Prolific North Marketing Awards for its Leeds Bear Hunt campaign.   As lead creative partner on this project—one very close to our collective hearts—it’s great to see it getting the recognition it deserves for everyone’s hard work. Huge congratulations to everyone involved! You can read more about our role in the project here: https://lnkd.in/eUG9Yx3G

Tesco's bold new marketing move has everyone talking! They've peeled away their iconic logo, focusing on a food-first approach with their "Icons" campaign. By replacing the letters of their name with vibrant food images, Tesco proves their brand is recognisable even without its primary logo.   This got us thinking—what if we did the same with EDNA? The whole team embraced the challenge, each having just five minutes to do a virtual supermarket sweep on Tesco’s site, picking 4 items that capture what Edna means to them.   Swipe through to see some of our favourites! 👀

  • Building Connections at EDNA with Insights Discovery: Last summer, we introduced the Insights Discovery model at EDNA, colour-profiling everyone as a way to strengthen team connections and improve communication. Since then, we’ve noticed a real shift in how we work together. This week, we took it up a notch with some ‘speed dating’ sessions, where team members shared their Discovery results in a fun, fast-paced format. Why do we do it? For us, it’s all about understanding each other’s unique personalities and communication styles. By knowing what makes each of us tick, we’re not just making work smoother; we’re building a space where everyone feels valued and heard. Implementing Insights Discovery is helping us create real connections—not just within our team, but with our clients too. It’s a simple concept with a big impact, fostering a more empathetic and cohesive workplace. Curious to learn more about our approach? 50 and fabulous! 🎉 We’re ready to celebrate as we mark 50 years to the day since we first opened our doors in Great Britain. Five years after opening our first store in Dublin, our founder Arthur Ryan set his sights across the pond and opened the first Primark in Derby, England, on this day in 1974 🎉 While fashions have changed and our stores have evolved, over the past five decades we’ve stayed true to who we are – helping people to look good and feel good every day for less. A big thank you to all our colleagues – past and present - for the important role they’ve played in our journey.💙 Here’s to the next 50.

So, that’s summer over, then (in the UK at least). “The nights are drawing in”. But it’s not all doom and gloom: We’ve got an exciting new project to warm your cockles. With our feet planted firmly in God's own country, it still took us Around The World In A Day. Four global locations. No flights. No jetlag. Read more about EDNA's first venture into virtual production, here: https://lnkd.in/eUnhcEaF Well done to the amazing EDNA team and to Production Park for making it happen : ) #virtualproduction #creative #campaign
